ORPHAN (2009)

"I have a suprise for you,Mommy!"

The movie Orphan begins with a horrific scene in a hospital where Kate (Vera Farmiga) is in labor. As she is wheeled down the corridor, blood begins to flow like a river.Kate wakes up in bed in her remote, house in the woods where she lives with her husband John (Peter Sarsgaard) and their two young children, the adolescent Daniel (Jimmy Bennett) and the nearly deaf preschooler Max.Kate has recently suffered a stillbirth that continues to give her nightmares, so she and John have decided to reach to another child. Esther charmers John at the orphanage. So, the fact that the last family who adopted her all perished in a house fire doesn't ring any bells. The adoption goes through and Esther comes to stay, bonding quickly with Max, Danny how ever is antagonistic. Kate begins to noticie odd things about Esther that don't quite seem to add up. Young Max soon sees a whole lot more of Esther's odd side, but is too terrified to say anything. Kate, who is recovering from a bout of alcoholism that ended her career, can't get other adults to listen to her growing suspicions.Concerned for the safety of her family, Kate tries to get John and others to see past Esther's sweet facade. But her warnings go unheeded until it may be too late--for everyone.

Soiler alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess my one and only grip I have with this movie comes twards the end of the movie. It is reviled that she is not an 9 year old orphan ,but is infact a 33 year old woman named Leena.Leena has a disease that prevents her from growing physically.I don't know,I just think that little twist could have been left out.Having said that, I will admit though that I found "Orphan" to be a thoroughly entertaining and entirely creepy film.

Interesting. I'll be skipping this though. Maybe if it's on TV I'll watch it since it strikes me as one of those films which'll end up there quickly.

The movie was very good. But the acting part where the crazy girl was on the sofa with the father trying to make out with him, I didnt buy it. the acting was weak at that poit and should have been left out. But the movie is still good.

You know, for some reason I had a feeling she was old. I didn't see the film and I just had an instinct feeling about the plot. looks like I was right. Nice review!!!
