"If timeline mess ups, character mis-representation, a mess of a story, poor pacing, and random pointless characters popping in to say hello and just randomly leaving does not bug you then by all means enjoy"

Well as a die hard X-fan i must say i'm heavily disappointed in what X-Men Origins:Wolverine has brought to the table which is evidently some decent action and nothing more. The movie starts of with a horrible mis-step in direction by skipping through the most important part of an origins movie which is the ORIGIN! Wolverine's childhood, adolescence, and involvement in wars over the years is thrown into a little opening credits montage so right off the bat all the mytho's of Wolverine and why he is the way he is has already finished by the time directed by Gavin hood hits the screen. Everything we wondered about Wolverine's development into the angry feral being he is is skipped over and instead Wolverine is a nice guy who gets screwed over one day by his old collegues and then becomes a monster.

The entire weapon X procedure is literally like 4 minutes long. The movie fails to give us insight into this character and instead gives us nothing but his mission...to kill Sabretooth. We don't get any character development, we don't get any complex relationships with other mutants we get Wolverine walking around looking for Sabretooth and accidently bumping into random mutants along the way. These mutants like Gambit, Wraith, Blob, Beak, etc the ones the movie trailers so prominantly advertise are like X-3 characters meaning they just pop in for no reason just to say "hey look they included me in this movie". These characters serve no purpose to plot and while they are al acted well they are horribly portrayed as one dimensional people. What angers me most is the character misrepresentation. Everyone is like a damn cartoon character and it's not the acting that is at fault it is the writing. Stryker plays like a bad bond villain, Deadpool who most will be offended by is turned into an absolute abortion. Can you believe the merc with a mouth has his mouth sewn shut and turns into a baraka knockoff. The premise of Deadpools purpose was essentially the same thing Donovan tried to achieve in the DOA:Dead Or Alive film and the fact that i just compared Wolverine to that pierce of crap shows how awful this movie really is.

The acting is actually pretty good but the writing makes them all one dimensional and for the most part emotionless so you don't feel like these are real people you feel like you are watching a bad saturday morning cartoon. The action is well choreographed and the effects are excellent but effects along with action do not make a movie and they certainly don't cover up all the screw ups you just did to these characters and timeline. Sure the X-Men films were not accurate but they at least had a coherant story and characters with clear motives and enough good writing and development for you to clearly see why they have these motives. Wolverine is just rushed it has no coherant story, and while X-3 got a ton of shit man wait till you X-3 haters get a load of this. If timeline mess ups, character mis-representation, a mess of a story, poor pacing, and random pointless characters popping in to say hello and just randomly leaving does not bug you then by all means enjoy. I apologize i really wanted to like this movie, honestly i really really tried but sadly it is awful.

Yea, I might end up waiting for DVD, with all these bad reviews. Although next weekend, nothing comes out. Sorry, but I'm not seeing Star Treck! lol. So I might end up seeing this anyway.

yeah, once a superhero movies turn in a film like x-men 3, there's no hope, like superman 3, after that the series died, same with batman forever, while it wasn't terrible they should have stopped because we then got the crapfest batman & robin. both franchises redemed themelves with superman returns and batman begins, so hopefully hollywood will get there head out of their ass and reboot the damn thing lol.
