"Almost dying changes nothing, dying changes everything."
House M.D is one of my favorite shows and the season 5 premiere did not disappoint. At the end of season 4 we left Wilson with a dead gf that was partially Houses fault...indirectily..it's debatable but none the less Wilson was in terrible shape. The episode starts 2 months after the last season. Wilson has just come back from his leave and starts packing up saying he's leaving the hospital. House try's to talk him out of it but any fan of the show knows that'd consist of House telling him he's an idiot for leaving. Cuddy tries to work it out and make the two sit down and talk but nothing seems to work. Mean while the episodes patient suffered from a hallucination and passed out, had skin issues and a strange pregnancy that lead to a difficult surgery. In an attempt to make Wilson stay House threatens to ignore the patient until Wilson agrees to stay.
The best part of this episode is the talk between Wilson and House at the end. You see House in a vunerable position and dont know whats the right thing for Wilson to do. I read in EW that this season would push the idea that House has gotten to the point where his misery is affecting and hurting the people around him, and this episode deffinatly sets the tone. I know this review was written for people who know the show but if you know nothing about House, seriously sit down and watch any of the old episodes and you'll be intrigued and want to know more about this Dr and how and why he is the way he is. Looking foreword to the next episode
