"I'm going to slice your head clean off see if that works........."
The x-men film series has become one of the creators and sole holder for the reason of studios picking up on comic books to turn into successful superhero films and franchises, with this said x-men was a big hit and one of the greatest sci-fi films in history, then came x2 which was better and don't forget the disaster that was x-3 which I can't even talk about.
But one thing that had audiences and fan's thinking about was if we would see the origin and background of Wolverine, so the outcome film could be good or bad, in my opinion it was average.
Hugh jackman returns as the man with the claws although he shows the most enthusiasm for the film (heck he even got pist off because of the bootleg leaks). I was thrilled when I went in for the private screening at 5:00 in the morning got my gambit shirt and all and rushed down to the Cineplex down my road, bought some pop-corn and slush (didn't have time for twisslers and chocolate) and sat down with a crowded house of sci-fi fans and geeks. The opening scene is something fans should enjoy it more or less reminiscent to films such as Rambo 2 and Batman begins (a mix should I say), has you exited to see further as a good night out. After a few minutes though the film get's dreary and has some pointless dialog which follows, i like how Gavin Hood captures Logan's upbringing. Another thing which really got my blood boiling was how Deadpool was depicted in the film (he more or less has a one liner) hardly focusing on his character.
Then again there is Sabertooth who has a very disgusting acting role (it was a bad choice for leiv Schriber or whatever his name is) he has poor talking scenes, his origin story makes the film seem like you are watching a twilight zone re run.
I think personally the film didn't have any surprises for fans, many of the audience where expecting a surprise character or something from the comics but that didn't happen.
As you know the film had many endings randomly scattered around many movie theatres around the world, so many people will see differences in their reviews due to the films endings. Luckily for me i paid the projectarist an extra few bucks thereafter to show us the other endings on the print of film, what i can say to the fans who are planning to go and see it this weekend is that it does pay to bribe your projectarist to show you other print, because the other endings are by far better than the standard print.
My verdict on the film is that no one seemed interested when making this movie, Deadpool and gambit are basically extras in this whole thing, there is a chick who i thought could have been picked out a lot better. Your girl will love this movie just to see Hugh's pecks but if you are a guy who loves watching mindless action this film is for you, if you are a fan and were expecting a film that keeps you at the edge of your feet for cameos and special appearances forget this piece of work, but wait there some likenesses towards it, Gavin hood's excellent direction and camera work makes the character rich and in charge, they are some really cool stunt and visual effects in the movie which all the intellectuals will find rather entertaining.
So there you have it some will go in theatres hating it or loving it, i went in with a mixed mind.
Don't forget to stay after the credits for a little easter egg which might set up a sequel.

Lock ~ The ending sucked. That's what I thought. Weapon XI in the comics was either Daken (Wolvie's son) or Garrison Kane, who they later made into another Weapon X. It was never the dude from the movie. They ruined that story, although Weapon XI was meant to be the Wolverine-killer, actually, any Weapon Plus agents who went rogue he would be sent to kill. So they majorly dismantled story and now I don't see a Part 2 (another spin-off movie) to that story coming seems as what happened to Weapon XI at the end.
Sounds like you didn't watch the final cut at all, maybe only the leaked workprint.
