"Not as cheesy as I'd come to expect..."
I had been waiting just about 2 years for this movie to come out. So expectations were very high while trying not to be too optimistic. I never once doubted the films integrity cause I new I would see this one way or the other. I've been a really really big fan of G.I. Joe for nearly 25 years. The movie is awesome. I'm not bagging it one bit. I am just glad I was able to finally see it on the big screen. The opening scene was all too clever, sadistic too. The action was fast and powerful! I was very surprised that is wasn't as cheesy as I thought it's be. I thought it's be closer to the old cartoons. So freaking glad it wasn't. It was actually pretty realistic, with numbers getting destroyed on both sides of the battle. They took away quite a bit from the original storyline. Much more than I'd expected. But none I can't handle. They had to make it a bit more interesting for people who don't know the G.I. Joe background stories. The whole, Duke, Anastasia, and Cobra Commander thing is what really blew me away, but not too awful bad, it still makes for a good story. The whole Snake Eyes' vow of silence? Okay, whatever. But I wish they stuck to the origin story between him and Storm Shadow more closely. As in keeping their approximate age when the hard master was originally killed. Cause how are they going to push the storyline from there on? You have to know what I mean to understand where I am coming from. Just check out some Joe battlefiles somewhere, or Wikipedia on the Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes, as well on the rest of the main characters. I can't wait for bluray of this film to release. I bet I'll see it again before it leaves the theaters. Yo Joe!!! I'm cheesy too sometimes.
