"Jason Voorhees Has Done It Again
"
Question-Why is this movie called a reboot or revamp? For me, it was like an average Jason film. I figured when they said a revamp, that they were going to delve deeper into his past. So, that just makes this Friday the 13th Part 12. There was nothing different about him. Just your friendly, retardant, masked killer. I mean there was always some speed to Jason's walk. He wasn't like Myers. He still had that weakness of his mother. Still wore the hockey mask. Still used his trusty machete. To even go deeper into it, there were even the lame ass actors and actresses, who, usually, appear on this franchise. The only good acting i saw was from Jared. You still had the drug use. Titties, still there. This movie breaks it's franchise record for most titty shots ever.
I don't mean to picking on this movie like this, but it was very unsuspecting, which i liked. I'm glad they didn't fool around with Jason, although they did give him a kind of Rambo personality. All he need was the red bandanna across his mask. This movie kind of reminded me of the first four Jason films, which were the best out of the franchise.
There is a bit of a bump along the way, though. Okay, Myers is known as the stalker and pops out of nowhere and stabs you. Freddy's the wise cracking slasher, who'll kill you in all kinds of ways. Jason fucking Voorhees is a dismembering monsters. This fucker snaps victims into pretzel forms. He cuts people in half, while they're fucking. He rips open intestines, while a moron does handstands to his girlfriend. Basically, if Jason killed you then you should be missing a body part. This movie had no real dismemberment. All i saw was Jason stickin things into people and setting traps. And will someone give this message to someone in movies for me: making a sudden burst of noise during a quiet scene, IS NOT FUCKING SCARY! FIND A NEW METHOD!
But like i said i did enjoy this film. Seeing at night was even better. I know it's dark in the theaters but to see a scary movie, while it's dark outside is great. It's funny. Jason movies can go on, and on, and on, doing the same thing. Drunk campers getting slashed, and somehow it's different from the others without any real continuations. He's like the James Bond of horror. They even did a spoof from the Bond films, in part 6, when Jason's in the spotlight and slashes it, making blood drench down, like when Bond shoots the scope.
If your a big Jason fan, and hated the idea that it was being redone. Don't worry it's not. Just your regular Jason film. So, check it out. Also, i liked how they took the classic Jason moments and mini plots and put them into this movie. They had the mother's decapitation, Jason bursting through the glass behind Jared, like he did in Part 2. Being hung by a chain, as seen in Part 3. The loner in a long lost search for his sister, just like in the 4th one. The spikes on the tow truck that killed Trent is similar to the ones that killed Jason on The New Beginning.
But the Big one is Jason's famous disappearing/reappearing tricks. I mean this guy is in one place, then all of a sudden moves somewhere else. I wish he could appear in the theater and slice that fucking drunk who kept making weird noises during the movie.
