"A lot better than the first installment...by a long shot!"
In this second installment to the fantasy/comedy series, Ben Stiller returns for another round of laughs and another exciting adventure. This time, working with Amy Adams who plays a statue version of Amelia Aheart [I think the last name is Aheart. Correct me if I'm wrong, please]. This time the adventure is a lot more exciting and a lot funnier. This sequel is a lot better than the original and is a great family film to enjoy. The first one was alright, not great but it has a good story to it. This one, however, goes into the plot of the first story much more than it did in the first and creates a 'Battle of the Smithsonian!' I do admit that this sequel is much better than the first and I think people should go out and see this with family or their kids or whatever. Just see it. It is a fun time at the movies, that's all I can say!
Ben Stiller, who played in the first, returns to save his old friends in this funny sequel. He does a good job in this movie and I think he does well for a family/children comedy. This Ben Stiller in this movie is mild and doesn't act inappropriate as usual. This Stiller is actually a little funnier that he is in his ridiculous R rated comedies like 'There's something about Mary' or 'Tropic Thunder'. This is the Ben that I love to watch. The mild Ben who makes the family laugh. Besides, I really don't find him funny in other movies anyway. I only liked him in this series and the 'Meet the-' series. That's pretty much it for me liking Ben Stiller in a movie. Robin Williams, another comedy actor, returns for this sequel as well and does a good job. Owen Wilson also returns and Amy Adams joins! All performances in this movie were good. Oh, and, Hank Azaria was hilarious in this!
THE GOOD:
The movie is a funny family film that everyone in the family can enjoy! I say see this!
THE BAD:
Some of the scenes in this were a little cheesy and lacked a bit but other than that the movie was really good.
VISUALS:
The visuals in this were fine. Not bad. I didn't really have any problem with the visuals in this movie.
DIRECTION:
The direction of this movie had fine. I didn't have a problem with that either.
OVERALL:
Overall, I say see this movie. It is a fun family comedy that the entire family can enjoy together. I didn't even see this with my family and I enjoyed it a lot! So, all and all, I say see this sequel to the 2006 comedy!
