""I'm gonna kill you all kinds of dead.""
The spirit was always one of my favorite comic books as a child it had darkness and noir combined with comedy, although the film adaption was a long wait was it worth it.
The spirit is a comic book which is colorful than dark and I'm really sure that if will Eisner was still alive today he would kick frank miller's ass. The story of the film is low [cop get's killed-cop comes back from dead-seeks revenge-and guess what meets some ho's on the way.] But despite this poor story it has some benefits such as the films direction, frank miller who co-worked on sin city did a fair job on direction, not a bad directorial debut. The camera angles are exactly the same as sin city snap shot's here and there and here we go black and white the style is getting outdated man and thanks to people like frank which make the style disgusting.
A cast with one of my favorite actors Samuel l Jackson are perfectly wasted, Sam who performs as the octopuss a serial killing freak is wasted upon him his role in the film sort of becomes a joker without the smile and makeup. Gabriel macht is the only good side of the spirit film as he is the title character and although the poor script and direction was to blame for this barf-bag movie let's take in consideration the fact that macht makes the spirit the character he was in the books 1950's detective like hero.
I like woman and I'm pretty sure all guys do and let's face it woman such as Eva mendes, scarlet jhoanson and Jamie king are hot and beautiful but all the hot woman of this film couldn't save it from itself, too many gorgeous woman spoil the broth or film in this case and that makes the spirit a worse of movie the dialogue of each of the woman is poor as it though a b-movie from hell and that's that.
The spirit was supposed to have been one of the most anticipated films of the year but it let itself down frank trying to hard to make it way too dark, a film like this should have been directed by someone like Tim Burton who could add the humour and the color of the comic book series in it, if you were a fan of the comic book and are hoping for something impressive and groundbreaking even a goodnight out the spirit does not deliver and that's the truth, the spirit needs to die and become a spirit.

I agree with VIS, there's no way that you wrote that other review, AND this one.
