STAR WARS: EPISODE II - ATTACK OF THE CLONES (2002)

"Despite The Love Scenes, I Still Like This Movie."

"Star Wars: EPISODE II-Attack Of The Clones," the second chapter of the prequel trilogy and the second chapter of the WHOLE saga, turns out to be a disappointment to many people when this came out in 2002. It was a box office success, but its number was lower than what Episode I had, and most of the reviews were negative while some were positive. Now, onto my review below:

STORY: Another nice story for this one. It takes place 10 years after the events of the Episode I. Anakin Skywalker is coming close to the Dark Side as he is now a Jedi Padawan, while Obi-Wan Kenobi is his Jedi Master. Also, the Clone Army is formed (As you can by the title of this episode!) and they help fight against the evil Droid Army. Even though this movie has too much love and drama in some scenes, it still has an entertaining story!

ACTING: The acting was really great! Hayden Christensen was perfect to play Anakin Skywalker! Ewan McGregor was still great as Obi-Wan Kenobi. Natalie Portman was so gorgeous as Anakin's love Padme Amidala. And Christopher Lee is always good as a bad guy like he was in "The Lord Of The Rings" trilogy! Another splendid cast in this one!

DIRECTING: George Lucas still did good directing this movie. If only he could have done better by not putting in so much love and romance, but he still did good with the action.

VISUALS: Great visuals for yet another "Star Wars" movie! Once again, I love the lightsaber duels, but I also love the Clone Wars' battle at the end! Also, Yoda is not like a puppet this time! Instead, he's a CG creature that looks real and 3-dimensional!

OVERALL: Despite the mixed reviews and love scenes in this one, I still think this "Star Wars" episode is worth watching because of the graphics and action scenes, but I just hope you can handle it through the romance in the middle though.

I also see your point, Raoul. Because I always knew Episode V was everyone's #1 favorite chapter out of the WHOLE saga. That movie was enjoyable but I like Episode III better because it was dark, violent, and awesome.

I agree about Yoda, Sly. Since this is the first movie that shows Yoda as a CG instead of a puppet, I was entertained with his battle with Dooku at the end indeed. But once again, many people I've talked to said they thought this movie was the WORST chapter out of the WHOLE saga because the too much romance it had in it bored them. But I wasn't bored with this movie at all. I thought it was really good and it has a nice story to continue the "Star Wars" saga.

I agree, GL admitted on "American Graffiti" that he couldn't write bf/gf scenes to save his life, which is why he hired Willard Hyuck & Gloria Katz to write Bolander's story. He should've done the same here. But besides that, I don't know why everyone gives this one such a hard time. It goes into the most fundamental mysteries of the entire saga which Kenobi first alluded to in Episode IV. I especially liked Jango Fett. He surpasses Boba's OT performance by a thousand miles since he actually gets to do stuff whereas Boba just kinda stood around. And Chirs Lee in a Sauruman-esque role in a Star Wars movie was perfect. Yoda however stole the movie.

Damn. That's a bold statement. Empire is king in my book.

Episode III is definitely my favorite, and I think it's the best out of all 6 of them!

Two of the handful of factors that really kept me interested in this series were Christopher Lee as Count Dooku and Yoda, both of which have a lot of time to shine in this movie. I'm not a big fan of these new installments though. It's like Star Wars is a huge turkey dinner with all the fixings, and these new Episodes are like a turkey TV dinner, but you cooked it in the oven so it's still pretty good. I definitely like this one more than Episode 1, but Revenge of the Sith is my favorite out of the three. Nice job.
