2012 (2009)

"Roland Emmerich's 2012 takes Michael Bay's Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and beats it's effects with a whip!"

Alright, I just saw the new "end of the world" film 2012. The movie has been very hyped up since the day a trailer came out, I think and from what the movie looked like with its special effects I wanted to see it too! Finally, the movie has come out. It was very hard getting a ticket to this movie. Last night I went to see it and lines were packed with people going to see this! I asked for a ticket at 5:30 and I ended up having to go a 7:00 because the next three times were sold out! I literally had to wait like an hour and a half just to see this movie....BUT IT WAS WORTH IT! 2012 has the best visual effects of the year, 2012 takes Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and beats it's effects with a whip! This movie has everything a great action-flick requires. A good solid-plot. Some humor. Great special effects! And a adventure to encounter! 2012 HAS IT ALL!

ACTING:

The movie has some familar faces in it. We've got John Cusack [is that how you spell his last name?], Amanda Peet, Danny Glover, and even Woody Harrelson! The movie has got some big names in it and the acting was great! I liked all the performences! I mean, Woody was a little goofy but what else can you expect from him? John Cusack does a great job in the lead role and Amanda Peet does an excellent job as the ex-wife. Danny Glover, portraying the President of the United States...does a pretty good job as well. As for all the other performences from faces that I don't know, they were all outstanding as can be! The acting from 2012 will not bother you.

DIRECTING:

Roland Emmerich, a big director of our time, you could say, takes on this apocalytic ending of our world that the Mayhems believe will happen on December 21, 2012. He has directed big movies like Independence Day, The Patriot, The Day After Tommorow, 10,000 BC, Stargate, and even Godzilla. I was never actually a fan of Roland Emmerich, I never really liked his movies. I thought Independence Day was okay and as for the others...I thought they sucked. Except The Day After Tommorow...that was actually good. BUT, up until now I never knew this guy could pull off making such an awesome, amazing movie! BRAVO to you Emmerich...2012 is the most epic movie you've ever made and may just be the best movie of 2009.

VISUALS:

All I can say about the visuals from this movie is "HOLY CRAP". Those were the happy words I spoke when the movie ended because I was amazed by how awesome and fantastic the movie's visuals were. The movie has incredible special effects and this movie has some of the best visuals a movie could have. This is without doubt the best "end of the world" flick I've ever seen not only because of its visuals but because of how great and fantastic the movie is. AWESOME visuals!

OVERALL:

OVERALL, an incredible look at the end of our world. The movie has incredible visual effects and a great adventure to witness! The acting in the movie was fantastic and the movie was very well-written. The movie has a sense of humor to light up the film and make it the perfect movie to see in the theatres. SEE 2012! It shall not dissapoint!

THANKS FOR READING!

lol. Tell me when you write a review [if you write a review] and I'll check it out and Slysnide, I'm actually considering changing this to 4.5 stars. I am actually because there was a couple dull scenes in this that could of been taken out and Serial Killer, I thought the ending was alright. Nothing great or epic actually.

I agree that the CGI wizardry rules the film, but I gave it 4/5 on my review. Good one SCREENWRITER.

lol Superman Empire. That must of been hard for you. I'm not a fan of Emmerich's from his recent flicks but I really enjoyed this one. He did a great job with it. And NewKill200, I didn't care too much for Independence Day, it was a little dull and quite boring. This is definatly Emmerich;s best...and probably only great movie.

Roland Emmerich's a five???????
Ok due to your recent comment, I will try to be gentle and hold back judgment until I see this "sprawling epic" for myself. Who knows, maybe I'll like it (bursting at the seems trying to hold back laughter)....aaaaahhhh I made it through this post without being too much of a dick, I'm a better person for it :)

Why does this get a pass over Independence Day?

If it was BC or Independence Day, then yes. But this one deserves a huge five!

Good review. But come on 5 stars. 3.5 should be the max for any Roland movie.
