"Where's the blood?!"
Well, this was better than I thought. I wasn't expecting much, even though most of the reviews were positive. I am not into "teen" movies that are geared toward teens, therefore get a PG-13 rating, though need an R in order to be taken seriously... for me at least. I find them cheesy and lame. This was not the case with Twilight. While I felt it might have been better, if granted an R rating, it was still decent. I thought it needed blood, since there was none. I mean, what kind of a vampire movie has no blood? This kind, I guess. Also the movie was almost TOO EASY to follow, and since this is a geared toward teens film, they need to make it blatantly obvious to the teens, who aren't too bright, in order to get the storyline. They pretty much spelt everything out for us. I am not saying it's bad, I'm just saying, if this would have taken an adult route, the film would have been better if taken more seriously. But I know many disagree.
The story is well, you know. A human 17 year old girl falls in love with a vampire boy at school. That type of story has been done before. But that's ok with me. I found that it seemed like the story was too simple, and could have used a little more depth, but it was still an ok plot. One that is obviously geared toward teens, because you can sum it up in one sentence.... haha. Am I insulting myself here? Because I am a teen? I don't know.
Anyway,
the acting was good by Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella. Not amazing, but definitely good, especially considering she's so young. I gave it a 2 star, because while she does good, along with everyone else, there was this one annoyance. His name was Robert Pattinson, who plays Edward. All the girls think he's hot, but I think he's a TERRIBLE actor, and one of the ugliest guys on the face of the earth. I mean the guy's forehead is deformed!! But that's another story... His acting just sucked. It's like Kristen Stewart was open to be good in their relationship, and she wanted them to have good chemistry, but this moron was stopping them from having such a relationship. I heard that they were in love, and all this hype about them, and how cute they were. But while Kristen Stewart was trying to live up to it, this guy was stopping that from happening. I mean, I still thought they were ok as a couple, but could have been better. Don't get me wrong, I've seen worse, so they did ok. In other words, she was good, he was bad. Not just their relationship, but everywhere else, he sucked.
The directing is... like I said, made it obvious it's a teen thing. I mean for a teen movie, this film is excellent, but as far as movies in general go, it's pretty average if ya ask me. Also, I hated the fast moving vampires. Unlike some, I didn't have much of a problem with the effects, they were fine. It's just the fact that he actually moves that fast, and just the way it was shot was kinda cheesy.
Overall, not that bad. Better than I expected. Kinda cheesy in some areas, but cool in others. The biggest problem I had was when the Cullens (hate that name) were playing baseball, and if you haven't seen the movie, you have no idea what I am talking about. But when you do, you'll know what I mean.
I do recommend this movie, however, I don't give it a high recommendation. It's decent.

I thought the mvoie was pretty average.
Let me lay down a few questions for you, to show you why I its bad, and the same permiss for bad vampire movies:
Why dose a certain vampire always fall in love with a human?
Why does a certain vampire always go againts other vampires (who are made to be the evil ones)?
Why dose a vampire always change what they have done for many years, because of some human?
Why dose a vampire never turn the person they love/like into a vampire?
why do the supposed "good"always relate to humans more then other vampires and why do they always want to be human again?
why is there never any blood?
why dose the vampire always move the same and look like there on string in an unnatural manner?
why dose the vampire always hate what they are?
why would a 500 or so (I don't know his age in the movie) year vampire be in a school acting like a kid wastings his tme, when he could be doing better things with his life?
why is the movie PG-13?
why are the vampires never glorified?
why would a vampire show a human thier powers just to connect with them?
why dont people in movies ever realize that vampires exsist and why do the humans always get scared when see what a the vampire really is a vampire?
why are their usually one or two types of vampires, and eventhough theres two types there are basically the same fucking species?
all these question are what I have seen in and determin what a bad, same old shit, vampire movies are, check all the question and see if you don't notice any one of these in bad, cheesy, vampire movies

I like it when they do things like that, and that was a favorite part of mine in the book.
I just thought the scene was cheesy is all. I don't mind the fact that vampires play baseball at all. They should be allowed t have a little fun as well as us humans. I'm just saying it was horribly executed, and turned out lame. But I can see many disagree with me.
and I wasnt saying the baseball part was unnecessary, I'm saying with all those speedy vampires, and that shitty music, it was lame, and should have been done differently.
Why is everyone attacking me? :(
lol
And the baseball part was not only necessary, but it was also AWESOME!!!!!
There really isn't that much blood at the end, but why would you want the movie to be a gore fest Crypt? The movie was fine.
Agree with the Pattinson comment. He did get better as the movie progressed though.
And the baseball scene was necessary... not cheesy. This is the scene in the book where James gets a whiff of Bella and desires to kill her. It was necessary.
And you have to remember that this family of vampires are trying to fit in with humans so as not to arouse suspicion so... its natural for them to play baseball or other human sports.
Want bloodl and gore Crypt? Then rent out From Dusk Til Dawn geez. haha
You've lost it, Vamp. There was like no blood at the end. Sure they rip his head off, but they dont show blood flying, or ANY BLOOD WHATSOEVER!!!
ROBERT PATTINSON IS A FREAKING MORON!!!
AND THE BASEBALL PART WAS ONE OF THE CHEESIEST SCENES IN AMY MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!
Now that I've said that, I've got more! LOLZ!
Robert Pattinson, in my opinion, was great as Edward, so I don't know what you were watching. XD!!!!!
And the Baseball part WAS AWESOME!!!!!
lolz.
Oh. Didn't you pay attention? There was plenty of blood in the final showdown between Edward and James.
Also, Cullen is an awesome name. >.<
Again, great review, though I disagree. XD!!!!!
Classic scene Johnny. Thanks for reminding me about it. Good thing you didn't say that to Crypt in person... I would be expecting you to take the gun out and shoot the poor kid in the foot. haha
thank you to MovieMaster, Raven, MovieBuff, and MoiveNerd.
