QUANTUM OF SOLACE (2008)

"OLGA KURYLENKO IS THE BEST BOND GIRL YET!!! However, this is not the best Bond film yet."

The Bond films are some of my favorite movies, and I have so much to say about this one, I don't think I'll even be able to remember all of it. But what can I say? I really did like this Bond installment. I like it the more I think about it, and re-cap what just happened in that theater. However, there are plenty of complaints. I guess with time comes change, but this is bad. I really loved Casino Royale. I THINK that my mind has been made up that Casino Royale is my favorite of the Bond films. I also believe that Daniel Craig is possibly the best Bond yet. I guess I liked Casino Royale, because it brought back the feeling of the older Bond films, to me. I liked that it kept everything true to the series. This one DOES NOT, and man, did that piss me off.

1. The opening song is a complete disaster.

2. They don't have the traditional gun barrel and Bond shooting, and the blood falling down the screen TILL THE END!

3. He doesn't even sleep with the main Bond girl (played by the super-sexay Olga Kurylenko. I'll get into this later).

4. It didn't have the feel if a Bond film. No reason, it just lost it's feel to it.

5. A sequel? Who thought of that? I guess it's not a bad idea, just not what you'd expect from Bond.

6. The Bond girl isn't even in the middle portion of the film. Too bad, because she's the best looking out of all the other Bond girls.

7. No cool cars, or gadgets.

8. Not as much sarcastic, witty humor from Bond.

9. No martini, shaken, not stirred.

10. Bond doesn't say "The names Bond, James Bond."

11. No bad Bond girl.

So, yes, this was a great film, I just have my complaints.

Our story begins RIGHT after Casino Royale. So, it's somewhat predictable. It is all about revenge, baby. Sure there's more to it, but do you really want me to spoil it for you? I doubt it. Let me just tell you to watch Casino Royale before you see the movie, otherwise you might be a tad lost in a few parts, as I was, since I haven't seen Casino Royale in a bit.

The acting... well, duh. It's good. I mean Daniel Craig has his haters, but I think he is possibly the best yet. I'm not gay, but he is definitely the best looking. He also suits the part quite well. Olga Kurylenko.... what a joy to look at. ALMOST as hot as Jessica Alba. She is a good actress too. I hate to say it, but better than Jessica Alba in the acting field. She and Craig have great chemistry together, and she is hands-down, without a doubt in my mind THE BEST BOND GIRL EVER!!! No kidding, not only is she the best looking Bond Girl, but also the one whose character I like the most.

The director is Marc Forster. He doesn't do bad, he just totally messes up these Bond films, that's all. Normally there is a specific group of people that does these Bond films. And for them to get this clown was the biggest mistake of their life. He isn't bad, like I said. He just totally screws the series over, for reasons previously mentioned. That's all I have to say about that. Though I know he directed another film called "Stay" that starred Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor. Twas a good film.

The visuals are incredible!! I mean sure you got the action and all that, but the Bond Girl is definitely the best visual part of the film!!! She makes all the other Bond Girls look ugly. I am seeing reviews on this site, amongst others, and none of them seem to mention how hot Olga Kurylenko looks. Oh, ya, awesome acting scenes. Pretty much non-stop.

Overall, a good enough film, and it just barely passes my official Bond exam. It gets a C, which is still a passing grade.... right? Hmmm.....

At least it's better than Moonraker.

Like I said, the film could've been drawn out for another 20 mins so the action and story weren't as compressed, but I still think that this is still a great film. Also, apparently Bond didn't bed Kurylenko's Bond girl as he was still in love with the Bond girl from Casino Royale. Admittedly, this doesn't explain why he gave Agent Fields a good slamming instead of her.

haha Way to go, Crypt! That's awesome. They didn't mention your name, but they referred to your review...and kinda disagreed with the fact she's the greatest. I thought she was rather dull in the beginning, but as the movie progressed, she became more feisty. I agree 100% with your rating, however, but maybe not for the same reasons. Check my review out if ya want. It's a lil long heh
