"Cloverfield delivers"
A friend called the day after I've seen the movie, he asked me, "how was the movie?" I told him that the movie was good and he replied, "No, was the movie good or great?" At first, I told him that it was good, but then I immediately said, "No, it was great!" The reason I said that the movie was good the first time is because the acting is almost good, the actors didn't react the way they should in most of the situations that they where thrown in. Also, I felt that the screenplay was a little loose, most of the conversations were ok and there was a lack of transitions between them towards the beginning of the movie. The reason I said the movie was great is because the movie is a thrill ride, you go through what the protagonist goes through. I felt my legs shake at the site of buildings collapsing and crowds screaming, running like rats do in the presence of fear. I like the way that the movie takes its time to introduce the main characters so we can feel something when they go face to face with things worst than death. A big part of this movie is the visual and special effects and I would describe them with four words, state-of-the-art. You are probably asking your self if you get to see the monster, well, more then once! Overall, I recommend this movie, sure it's not great in the technical sense and it's not written by Quentin Tarantino, but I will see it again because I had a migraine, due to the cold here in Phoenix, and I didn't enjoy it as I should have.
