"Operation Kino "
If you're a fan of World War II movies like The DIrty Dozen, Where Eagles Dare, and The Guns of Navarone you wont be let down buy Inglourious Basterds. The movie is a classic action adventurer WW II movie and probably my third favorite Tarantino movie. Christopher Waltz steals the movie with his smart's and his devilish smile he is that character and thats what makes his performance so good. I would also like to point out that one of the high points the movie has going for it is its ensemble cast. The movie did have a lot of characters and it looks like Brad Pitt is more of a costar than the actual star of the movie. Every actor did a good job and some of my favorite characters in the movie were Mélanie Laurent's character and Til Schweiger was pretty sick in the movie but I stand by what I said about Christopher Waltz. The movie does have a lot of dialogue but most of it serves the story were as in Death Proof (witch I like) it was just people talking for way to long. I wouldn't call this movie a remake I've seen the original and this movie plays off more like a sequel to Where Eagles Dare and the Dirty Dozen than a remake and the story is a lot better than the original. What I really enjoyed about this movie was that it plays around with history instead of being historically accurate. I don't know about you but I can't watch another wannabe Saving Private Ryan. Brad Pitt and his group spend most of the time in the movie off screen but it works because when the plot kicks in and all the other characters collide its very ex-sighting. the last half of the movie is very well pace and has a good amount of tension and it pays off really well and to many movies don't give you the pay off in the finale but this movie does. Sure the movie is long and has a lot of dialogue and a lot of that dialogue is spoken in French or German but thats what makes a Tarantino film is his memorable dialogue. For me this is one of the best most fun films I've seen all year and I hope Tarantino does a prequel because I would love see it.
