Quentin Tarantino Finishes Screenplay for New Western 'The Hateful Eight', Which May Star Bruce Dern

Christoph Waltz is rumored to be the second lead. No story details have been revealed at this time.
It is being reported this afternoon that Quentin Tarantino has finished the first draft of his latest screenplay, presumed to be his next movie, and it is a Western. The working title as we know it to be is currently The Hateful Eight.

No story details have been revealed at this time, but it sounds like we may be gearing up for an old man version of the The Magnificent Seven.

There are two leads currently wanted by Quentin Tarantino, if we're to believe the news surrounding the project. The first comes as no surprise, as Christoph Waltz name is being associated with the developing action movie. The second actor is Bruce Dern, who had a very small role in Django Unchained. Might he be playing the same character?

Quentin Tarantino is said to be in the process of showing off the screenplay to both actors, as well as other undisclosed individuals he may be interested in working with. He will gather their feedback, and then continue working throughout 2014 on finishing a shooting script.

There has currently been no comment from any of the individuals involved with receiving the screenplay just yet.

The Hateful Eight is in development and stars Bruce Dern, Samuel L. Jackson, Zoe Bell, Michael Madsen, Kurt Russell, James Remar, Amber Tamblyn, Walton Goggins. The film is directed by Quentin Tarantino.

Can't wait for this, but would love to eventually see a Tarantino sci-fi flick, he's put his spin on every other genre so far.

I think Johnny Depp would be awesome in a Tarantino movie, plus he needs a little bit of a career boast right now.

I saw a cool interview with him and James McAvoy and they did a quick fake scene together. They need to work on this. And someone needs to get Pitt and DiCaprio in the same film together already, he should do it...

I could be wrong, but I don't think it'll be an "old men version" of the Magnificent Seven; I see it as being something more akin to The Wild Bunch or even Silverado. The age factor may just be inconsequential. That said, I do not care to see Christoph Waltz playing a different rendition of Hans Landa in yet another Tarantino flick. Either way, I'm pretty excited for this one.
