Prometheus star Noomi Rapace revealed in an interview last month that the sequel, Prometheus 2, may feature "God or the devil" as the villains, after another report from September claimed that the classic Alien Xenomorphs will not be featured in this follow-up. Director Ridley Scott offered a new update, revealing that he is introducing a "fresher form" of the original Alien in the third act of Prometheus 2.

"It's fresh, getting away from gods and dragons and shit. If I see one more dragon I'm going to shoot myself. Stop the dragons. (The original alien is) the definitive dragon and he's a motherf---er. The alien's real which is why it's probably one of the scariest monsters in film history. So with Prometheus 2 what I'm trying to do is reintroduce a fresher form of alien in the third act."

The filmmaker added that the "baby alien" in Prometheus was, "awfully close to the alien" from his original 1979 classic, promising that his new creature will be "very different."

It still isn't known when production may begin on Prometheus 2, which 20th Century Fox has slated for release on March 4, 2016. Ridley Scott is currently filming The Martian starring Matt Damon and Jessica Chastain, and he is also developing a long-awaited follow-up to Blade Runner.
