One day after reporting that Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner) is in talks to take the female lead in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, her co-star Brenton Thwaites has offered up new details about the script. The actor signed on in November to play a young British soldier who teams up with Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), but not much more was known about the plot at that time. Now, Brenton Thwaites reveals that he's heading to Australia next month for pre-production, while teasing new details about the ploy.

"I don't know much about the story, they're quite tight about that stuff. I'm heading back to Australia to begin [pre-production] in a month. It's about a young man who wants to reconnect with his father, Davy Jones. There's a curse that prevents him from doing that. I think it's about how he goes around that and tries to fix it and he has to save his dad. I'm looking forward to it. It'll be a lot of fun!"

Bill Nighy played Davy Jones in both Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, but Orlando Bloom's Will Turner took over the "title" of Davy Jones at the end of Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Orlando Bloom recently hinted that he may return in this new adventure, which would make more sense now, given the details revealed by Brenton Thwaites. Javier Bardem is set to play the villainous Captain Brand, a ghost who seeks revenge against Captain Jack for the death of his brother. Geoffrey Rush is also expected to reprise his role as Barbosa.
