A new film has just rounded out its cast of gods, literally. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pierce Brosnan, Uma Thurman, Sean Bean, Kevin McKidd and Melina Kanakaredes have all joined the cast of Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.

The quintet of actors will all be portraying classical Greek gods in the film, with Brosnan playing Chiron, Thurman portraying Medusa, Bean taking on Zeus, McKidd as Poseideon and Kanakaredes as Athena. Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario and Brandon T. Jackson have already been cast as the main youngsters in the film, which revolves around Percy Jackson, the half-son of Poseidon, who embarks on a quest across modern-day American to prevent a war amongst the gods.

Chris Columbus is directing from a script he co-wrote with Craig Titley, which was adapted from Rick Riordan's best-selling young-adult novel, "The Lightning Thief." The book is the first in a series of five, with the fifth due on bookshelves in May, and the studio, Fox 2000, is hoping to build the film into a franchise.

The film is currently shooting in Vancouver and eyeing a February 12, 2010 release.

Damn, all we need is a Kratos and we got ourselves a God of War. This sounds good. It's good to see that Brosnan didn't suffer from the Bond bug, like Roger Moore did, which is funny because Moore seems to be the only actor who portrayed bond for a good duration and doesn't have anything else good in his filmography. Another thing that's good is to see Pierce and Bean work together again, from Goldeneye.
