Performer Matt Long emerged as a supporting actor in the mid- to late 2000s. He achieved his most significant break in his early twenties, as one of the titular leads on Thomas Schlamme's critically worshipped -- but audience-ignored -- coming-of-age series drama, Jack & Bobby (2004). That program -- which, despite its title and one of the plot elements, bore only the most tenuous connection to the Kennedy family -- observed the doings of two contemporary young brothers, amid the throes of an upbringing by their hip, pot-smoking single mother (Christine Lahti), and the overarching suggestion that one would go on to run for president in the 2040s.
