Paramount Pictures has slated Paranormal Activity 5 for a October 25, 2013 release. They are also planning a Latino spinoff that will be debuting in the spring of 2013.

Plot details are few and far between, but we do know that it will be advancing the story from the previous movies. Jason Blum will be producing. The studio has not confirmed a director (or directors).

Paranormal Activity 5 will share the date with Edgar Wright's action-adventure comedy The World's End.

Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman's Paranormal Activity 4 brought in $135 million worldwide.

Paranormal Activity 5 comes to theaters in 2015. The film is directed by Gregory Plotkin.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx You mean Misfits? I'm not familiar with that show; so I'm somewhat confused. Haha

@crypt -- Kind of. If I love the television show, and there's not many episodes left, I'll try to finish the progress as soon as possible. I'm still procrastinating Misfits. It's just, painful. And that's a pill that's hard to take, because he was such a great show before season 3(excluding the Christmas Special; bleh).

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx haha, Are you one where once you start a series you must finish them even if you despise the sequels (or later episodes if it is a TV show)?

Each film has got progressively worse! not to mention the first one was crap anyway. the 4th one is the worst one yet... f****** terrible!!! and they're all the same. If they're not having their blanket pulled off of them, then they're getting dragged along the floor. and if that's not happening, a door slams. the same thing 4 times over, and now for a fifth? it's a joke!

@Connect200 I don't think it is like Saw. To me the Saw series actually had some good story telling for even most of the sequels. While the PA series is just downright awful and not worth seeing for any reason.

@thedude1 I have had the pleasure of not seeing these series. I bet they are trying to be like Saw, which that series in itself shot itself going to seven instead of just sticking with three.

Well despite all these negative comments below, it will probably still pull in massive bank, which I will contribute to as well. I personally like this series quite a bit; let's just hope it's better than the fourth one.

And PS Movieweb- You're a little late on getting this. I read a smilier article the weekend of PA4's release if I remember correctly.

please filmmakers, make up for what you failed with from the last movie
I skippped it hearing how bad it was, I mean what happened?
just for the record people: all these movies are not BAD minus the 2nd one according to RottenTomatoes
#1-82% 'Using its low-budget effects and mockumentary method to great result, Paranormal Activity turns a simple haunted house story into 90 minutes of relentless suspense'
#2-59% 'Paranormal Activity 2 doesn't cover any new ground, but its premise is still scary -- and in some respects, it's a better film than the original.' BULLSH*T! I hated this one so much
#3-62% 'While the jolts and thrills are undeniably subject to the diminishing returns that plague most horror sequels, Paranormal Activity 3 is a surprisingly spine-tingling treat.'
the 1st one I loved and got everything started, again 2 I despised every single character in that one, and 3 was the best one because they got back to the basics
fingers crossed for 5 getting back on track
