Actress Carey Mulligan is attached to star in a new drama entitled Outback, which Gary Ross will direct for GK Films.

Nissar Modi is currently writing the screenplay, based on an idea both he and Gary Ross conceived. Nothing is known about the story, except that it is set in the Australian Outback.

It isn't known when production will start on Outback, although both the director and star will be busy shooting high-profile projects this summer. Gary Ross is currently filming The Hunger Games adaptation, and Carey Mulligan will shoot The Great Gatsby this summer for director Baz Luhrmann.

Gary Ross will also produce Outback with GK Films' Graham King and Tim Headington, along with actor/producer Tobey Maguire.
