Nicolas Cage Confirmed for ‘The Expendables 3’; Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes, and Mickey Rourke in Talks!

Sylvester Stallone doesn’t know if this third sequel to the popular action franchise will be the last, but he definitely thinks there could be more in the future.

The Expendables 2 proved to be a big hit this past August, and as we prepare for the sequel's release on Blu-ray November 20th, Sylvester Stallone has stepped forward to speak about the already in pre-production next installment The Expendables 3.

Sharing his thoughts from his own personal Facebook page, the action icon confirmed that Nicolas Cage will be taking on a major role in this latest adventure. He also confirmed that the inclusion of Harrison Ford is no joke, with an eye firmly on Wesley Snipes and the hopeful return of Mickey Rourke. There is no mention of Steven Seagal, who is notoriously hard to work with, and Clint Eastwood seems to be out of the running (maybe he really is too old for this sh*t. or maybe they are saving up for Part 4).

Here's what Sylvester Stallone had to say.

"The Expendables 3:

We are preparing the film with the same passion and commitment as the previous two. We have confirmed Nicolas Cage, a master actor who gives a veneer intellectual group. Hopefully we can realize to Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes and Mickey Rourke. That is the great mission of the producer. We will continue with the same narrative scheme, the agility and the frenzy, which are inherent to the saga. What will definitely be the last? I cannot guarantee. In principle it would be two deliveries, but the affection of the people encouraged us to work on a third. I guess as long as we amused ourselves by offering fun and people, we can continue playing The Expendables. For now we are not as expendable as it should and as some critics want.

Sly Stallone"

What this essentially means is that they will keep making these as long as people keep going to see them. The Expendables has become a bonafide action franchise not locked into the usual trilogy. John Woo is currently being eyed to direct this latest installment, with Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham confirmed to return.

The Expendables 3 was released August 15th, 2014 and stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Harrison Ford, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mel Gibson, Wesley Snipes, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture. The film is directed by Patrick Hughes.

Now this is epic news. A fight between between Stallone and Cage would be awesome! I'm still hoping they add Christopher Lambert to the cast though.

They gotta get Snipes and Ford for this one, and Seagal would need to be in it. I wanna see a fight scene with Snipes and Sagal

For Christensen, it would be a revamp, he's done other work but people still only see the winey Anakin. I am a Star Wars, fan but this change that image. Again, this is a possibility, rip on him all you like, we still see a whiney Anakin but the other ones are greater choices. Not C. Tatum! I also want to add The Rock and Clancy Brown. I'll stop before my list looks too long to read. This is an opinion. Do and say as you will, I welcome it

EXPENDING ALL DOUBT, I wonder if Seagal will appear in any of them.. They should get Antonio Banderas, Jackie Chan, Christopher Lambert, Micheal Biehn,Tom Berenger, Val Kilmer, Thomas Jane, Willem Dafoe, Robert De Niro, Pierce Brosnan, Kurt Russell, Russell Crowe, Cillian Murphy, Jeremy Renner, Danny Trejo, Liam Neeson, Harvey Keitel, Hayden Christensen, the list goes on I suppose! These are possibilities to revamp some of these actor and for others it would be another great franchise to be a part of
