Zombieland Sequel Coming in 3D?

On the heels of the hot genre action-comedy Zombieland, it's no surprise a sequel has been discusssed, although it seems the sequel could happen in all three dimensions. Moviehole recently spoke to Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer, who revealed that they were discussing a sequel to the film in 3D.

But the most interesting development? Fleischer says the next film will likely be 3D - yep, mother-hopping three-dimensional Woody vs. Zombie action!!

Believing "the genre really lends itself to [3D]", and convinced - via what we're hearing and seeing of Avatar - the technology is now there, Fleischer's very keen to throw a few zombie gizzards in our direction. "Dead" cool, right!?

Fleischer also said that his primary cast - Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin - would return in the sequel, although it may take awhile since they haven't "cracked" the story yet.

Zombieland was released October 2nd, 2009 and stars Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin, Amber Heard, Bill Murray, Derek Graf, Jacob G. Akins. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer.

The first film is the freshest thing I've seen in a while. I think a 3D sequal could be fun and as with all 3D releases at the moment, you have a choice where you see it if you want to see it in 2D.

I don't get the 3D backlash (particluarly Mark Kermode). Used right, it can enhance a film imo.

I agree, there is no reason to ruin a good movie like this. 3D will ruin it.

I agree, Iambatman. 3D is ridiculous. James Cameron said that 3D is hear to stay after Avatar but that's bullsh*t. The only reason 3D came back into the industry is because it's harder to pirate 3d movies. But sooner or later people will figure out that little scheme and it will hurt the movie business because everyones not going to pay extra to see a movie in 3D that really has no real purpose of being 3D.

exactly i agree with both of you The Fallen and Papa Panda this movie is going to be f*cked up if it gets made in 3D i mean the first one was amazing, funny, and perfect. But then if they are going to pull this sh*t on Zombie land and f*ck up another good movie then "F*CK THAT".
