Director Ruben Fleischer and actor Jesse Eisenberg scored a solid hit last year with their action-comedy Zombieland, which also starred Woody Harrelson and Emma Stone. The film featured survivors of a zombie apocalypse making their way across country to find sanctuary in a zombie-free zone. The movie grossed over $100 million at the box office and received mostly positive reviews from fans and critics alike, basically ensuring a sequel with its success.

In fact, the film was so well received that soon after it was released, Colombia Pictures announced that writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick would be working on a draft for a sequel to the film with both Fleischer returning as director and the main cast reprising their roles.

The experience of working together on Zombieland must have been a very rewarding one for Eisenberg and Fleischer as they have decided to team together again for their new film 30 Minutes or Less, which is currently filming in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We recently had a chance to visit the set of their new film and speak with both Eisenberg and Fleischer about the current status of Zombieland 2? "I think they maybe finished a draft of the script but I haven't read it yet," answered Eisenberg. "I hope its great."

We followed up by asking Fleischer if he had a chance to read the Zombieland 2 script yet? "Yeah I read it," he answered. "I mean it's an early draft and we have plenty more to do to work on it but I think it's going to be amazing. I'm really excited about it."

Finally, we asked the director if he thought Zombieland 2 would be his next picture after he wraps work on 30 Minutes or Less: "Yeah ... I have a couple of irons in the fire so we'll see but I'd be excited if it was. I have this buddy-cop movie that I sold to DreamWorks that is pretty cool and there's a movie that Mike White wrote called Babe in the Woods that is a really cool script so those kind of exist and then we'll see what happens."

Zombieland 2 is in development .

I read a small portion of the script but all i can say is that i came away very impressed. They really seem to have nailed the gritty realism and are staying true to the book. Pitt, will probably be the UN guy collecting stories (hopfully the downed pilot off I10 in Lousiana and Yonkers will be there) and the movie is done through creative flashbacks. But that was a while back...all that could have changed by now but Pitt, being a fan is obviously going to be throwing a LOT of money at this. That never hurts.

Agreed, @REAL - World War Z, if done right, would be a masterpiece.

I'm really hoping World War Z also comes to fruition, with Brad Pitt. I just know that'll be the definitive zombie movie. Zombieland was refreshingly good, mostly due to Woody Harrelson. As long as he's in the sequel, it'll be gold as well.

Wesley Snipes should have a cameo playing himself or his zombie self... He could reunite with Woody Harrelson in Tokyo or China or something... Wesley could use his Blade skills on a few zombies haha.

The first one was great I hope in this one they ask Bill Murray to reprise his role again but
this time as a real zombie I think that would be funny as sh*t cause he made me laugh in the first
    one when he appeared.
