Zoe Saldana Is Uhura in Star Trek

Zoe Saldana has signed on to play Uhura in J.J. Abrams' big-screen adaptation of Star Trek for Paramount Pictures.

Saldana, whose credits include Guess Who, recently wrapped the Sony thriller Vantage Point. She is filming James Cameron's sci-fi tentpole Avatar.

Star Trek was released May 8th, 2009 and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Eric Bana, Bruce Greenwood, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams.
