Zhang Yimou to Direct Three-Part Bruce Lee Film

In a story from Variety it appears that a three-part biopic about martial arts legend Bruce Lee is going to be made. The family of Lee is putting their full support behind the project.

Lee died 36 years ago this week.

Currently, Lee's family is working with China's J.A. Media on a film titled Bruce Lee. The film will go into production this October. Tony Leung Ka-fai will be playing Lee's father. Other cast members are currently up in the air.

Directing this three part epic will be Zhang Yimou.

The first film is slated to be released on November 27, 2010 which is the 70th anniversary of Lee's birth.

"We've read many books and seen many movies about Bruce Lee, but there are many inaccuracies in them," stated Bruce Lee's brother Robert.

I agree with Shelley. But just as long as they do it well.

It'll be very interesting and will no doubt pull an audience. I hope they do the movie well. Accuracy, seems to be the driving force, and the family wishes, so why not make three movies, if that is what it takes to get it right?

Actualy four as for your have IP man 2 coming out soon as well.

Both IP Man 2 & 3 starring Donnie Yen are being filmed back to back, IP man is known for being one of the greatest martial artist of our previous generations and of course the individual that trained Bruce Lee, which is one of the main focues of the 2nd film in the trilogy.

If you haven't seen the 1st, i highly recommend it

Wow, 36 years. Three movies is way too many, just do one and do it well.

Bruce Lee is my hero. But I think I'd prefer to watch his movies to a movie about him.
