Zebediah de Soto Set for 3D Night of the Living Dead: Origins

The Hollywood Reporter's Heat Vision Blog is reporting that Zebediah de Soto is set to direct Night of the Living Dead: Origins, a 3D CGI format re-imagining of George Romero's landmark zombie film. However, Romero is not involved in this project.

De Soto wrote the script with David R. Schwartz, wants to update the tale partially by bringing out the characters' backstories and make what he called "an American-style anime."

No production date has been set.

If it's going to be like RE: Degeneration I'd check it out. The kids will enjoy the 3D part of it. It might end up pretty good. Different, but good.

LMAO, Cell this will be a kind of prequel/remake with an origin story but to make it more random its 3D CGI, yay!
They've step up to the same levels as RE:Degeneration...
It looks like they may go anime by the last part though, weird though who would be interested in something like this...

Dallastexan...really i don't need to do anything, this is a free country, a free site and what such.
And if you think the avatar i currently have is racist, then i recommend you do some brain training to improvise your IQ.

ROFL!!! LOL! Damn this was already done back in 2006 ...

    Per Wikipedia:

Night of the Living Dead 3D is a 2006 horror film made in 3-D. It is the second remake of the 1968 horror classic Night of the Living Dead. The first was released in 1990 and was directed by Tom Savini from a revised screenplay by George A. Romero.

Man I wasted $8.00 bucks to see that ...what will be any different!??!

I guess economy is worse than I thought!!!

Have you read the origin comic Leng T'che?

I was thinking of writing a Of The Dead Remake, but merging the 3 films key scenes together, i think that would be amazing, with a bit of mergance from the comics.
Great screenwriter and a director like Danny Boyle, it could be really brilliant.

But i don't think a 3D CGI zombie is interesting to anyone, what's the point of the 3D effect if there aint a lot to do with it.
This is why 3D is becoming a nuisance and a downfall in the cinema industry, the medium is just getting plastered to every film and the films does not need the effect, because it renders useless.

The best film i've seen in 3D so far is 'The Final Destination'

I'll definately be up for a listen Drewski, i sent you a friend request :D

zombie movies are a favorite of mines as a horror fan. even if they are crap, i just love seeing people torn apart in the most gruesome way. and again like i always say, 3d will make it ten times better.
