In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Zach Galifianakis is currently in negotiations to voice the character of Humpty Dumpty in the Shrek spinoff Puss in Boots.

Tom Wheeler is currently writing the screenplay for the prequel. This project will showcase the voices of Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek. The story follows the feline assassin's first meeting with Shrek & Co. in the second film.

Chris Miller (Shrek the Third) penned the first draft of the Puss in Boots screenplay. He is going to be directing this project for DreamWorks Animation.

Puss in Boots is set to be released on Nov. 4, 2011.

Puss in Boots was released October 28th, 2011 and stars Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, Zach Galifianakis, Billy Bob Thornton, Amy Sedaris, Constance Marie, Guillermo del Toro, Rich Dietl. The film is directed by Chris Miller.
