The Weinstein Co. is moving the premiere date for the Michael Cera-starring possible awards contender Youth in Revolt, from Oct. 30 to Jan. 15.

According to Variety, TWC made the decision Thursday after premiering the Miguel Arteta-directed comedy at the Toronto Film Festival.

"After the fantastic response from audiences and critics at the Toronto Film Festival, we chose Jan. 15 as the best date to release Youth in Revolt, a Dimension Films rep said. "Not only will this smart comedy be great counterprogramming to some of the heavier fare at that time of year, but this date will allow the film to play some more festivals and continue to build word of mouth."

The film is based on the novel "Youth in Revolt: The Journals of Nick Twisp" by C.D. Payne.

Youth in Revolt was released January 8th, 2010 and stars Michael Cera, Portia Doubleday, Jean Smart, Zach Galifianakis, Erik Knudsen, Adhir Kalyan, Steve Buscemi, Fred Willard. The film is directed by Miguel Arteta.
