Movie PictureRogue Pictures has provided us with the first image from The Hitcher, a remake of the 1986 terror classic in which a young couple pick up a hitchhiker (Sean Bean) in the desert, only to learn that he has murderous plans, which he blames on the young man.

Dave Meyers is directing the new film, which tracks the terrifying cross-country trajectory of Grace (Sophia Bush) and Jim (Zachary Knighton), two traveling college students who are tormented by the mysterious hitchhiker John Ryder, a.k.a. The Hitcher (Sean Bean).

The Hitcher opens nationwide from Rogue Pictures on February 9, 2007.
