James McAvoy and Patrick Stewart will not share scenes in X-Men: Days of Future Past
According to James McAvoy, the younger and older Xavier's will never meet.
"It'll be cool, but I don't think we get any scenes together, sadly. I don't think there's any future self talking to past self."
While we definitely know there is a time travel element in X-Men: Days of Future Past, it isn't ultimately clear how the older Xavier and Magneto figure into the story.
Bryan Singer is directing from a screenplay by Simon Kinberg, based on Chris Claremont and John Byrne's comic book arc that centers on an alternate future where mutants are hunted down by Sentinels.
X-Men: Days of Future Past comes to theaters July 18th, 2014 and stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman. The film is directed by Bryan Singer.

@shuabert Your right. I have been trying to figure out how they would do that with the timeline they set up in the movies so far pertaining to Kitty Pryde. It makes sense that they would have her actually travel in time to the first class era.
That would cut out Rachel Summers part in the story which was quite significant. Trying to tell Rachel's story would absolutly be too much for the film...seeing as how character packed it is already.

@ROFLitschristian its funny how the sources they come from are "ACTORS" is pathetic. Its the worst cover i have ever experienced.

Damn shame. I was looking forward to a McKellen and Fassbender encounter the most, seeing as how this wasn't to be a direct adaption of the source material.

@skywise I don't think it will follow that exactly, though, because Kitty wasn't born yet in the timeline they're going back to (First Class era). Either she -- if indeed it is Kitty who is the focus of the time travel element -- will be sending her consciousness back into someone else's body, or she will physically travel back in time.

If they follow the comic then there are no crossing timelines except for the psyche of Kate Pryde (as she is called in the future). So it makes sense that none of the older characters come in contact with their younger selves.

@Zak-Lee-Ferguson Directors should stop doing that. It'll be Talia Al Ghul "not" being in TDKR all over again.

That sucks. I was really hoping we'd get some Stewart/McAvoy and McKellen/Fassbender dialogue.
