X-Men Origins: Wolverine Sweeps the DVD Sales Charts

X-Men Origins: Wolverine While summertime might be over, the movie that got the summer season started is still heating up on DVD. According to The Hollywood Reporter, X-Men Origins: Wolverine swept the national DVD sales charts for the week ending September 20.

The film sold a whopping 3 million units in its first week, destroying all competition. The closest competitor was the latest straight-to-DVD Barbie release, Barbie and the Three Musketeers, which sold only about 12% the amount of units that X-Men Origins: Wolverine sold. The only other semi-notable new release was Next Day Air, which took eighth place in sales and fourth place in rentals.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine bumped last week's top rental, State of Play down to second place in rentals, although it still held strong with 40% of the rental revenue as this week's winner. X-Men Origins: Wolverine also topped the Blu-ray sales charts, with a solid 25% of the disc's total sales coming in the BD format.
