Rose Byrne set for X-Men: First Class
With the plot kept under wraps, X-Men: First Class focuses on Marvel's superpowered X-Men team in a younger incarnation than seen in the previous trilogy.
Rose Byrne will play Moira MacTaggert, a scientist and an authority on genetic mutation. She'll be the love interest of James McAvoy, who plays mutant telepath Charles Xavier.
Fox will film in London at the end of this month.
X-Men: First Class was released June 3rd, 2011 and stars James McAvoy, Laurence Belcher, Michael Fassbender, Bill Milner, Kevin Bacon, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Beth Goddard. The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn.

My apologies, @Masta_Chiefed. I just read an interview that Matthew Vaughn gave on August 3 to MTV News, in which he states that the movie is indeed a prequel. What's odd, though, is that he still seems intent on bringing Scott and Jean into the mix. At least, that is what he seems to be willing to let everyone believe. Sorry there, Masta_Chiefed, but it wasn't just X3. Wolverine Origins wasn't good, and practically the whole series revolved around Wolverine. I want to see an actual X-Men movie series. That's all. And they haven't said it won't be a reboot. What are you going to say if they cast Cyclops later this week?

@ejk, you're right in your post, but Wolverine wasn't part of the legendary first class... Beast was.
Again, these are going to be little more than cameos people. Stop saying the cast is huge. the cast will be big but not huge. Most of these people already cast will basically be there to show that the mutant universe exists. Besides other than McAvoy there are no A listers here and barely any B listers, so I'd hardly call it a packed cast.

I hope you're wrong @Masta_Chiefed, and this is a reboot. And I hope they do cast Cyclops and Jean Grey soon. Otherwise, they need to change the name of this film, because it will be highly inaccurate. An X-Men film without Cyclops, Jean, Wolverine, Iceman, and Archangel? And it's called X-Men First Class? Pass.
