X-Men 4 in the Works

LA Daily News reports that X-Men executive producer Lauren Shuler Donner is currently working on the cast for a 4th installment in the movie franchise. Renegotiations would be needed to secure the main stars of the previous three films.

Donner says "The newer cast members are signed, and the older cast members are not." Considering the older names involved -- Halle Berry, Hugh Jackman, Rebecca Romijn, Famke Janssen and Anna Paquin -- that could run into a huge chunk of money.

All that's putting the cart before the wolverine, of course, since Hugh Jackman is set to reprise his role as the manicure-challenged mutant superhero in his own film. "Next, we're going to do 'Wolverine,' but not before the end of the year because he's in the Baz Luhrmann film," she says of the filmmaker's untitled Australian epic with Nicole Kidman. However, "We have the script and are working on it."

Shuler Donner reports, "We also have 'Young Magneto' in development."

X-Men: First Class was released June 3rd, 2011 and stars James McAvoy, Laurence Belcher, Michael Fassbender, Bill Milner, Kevin Bacon, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Beth Goddard. The film is directed by Matthew Vaughn.

    thats some bullsh*t come on a reboot the fans want to see the story continue keep it going dont stop it like they did the spider-man 4 movie we the fans wanted that spider-man 4 movie not some bullsh*t reboot movie we already seen spidy in high school so why take it back? please dont do that to the x men franchise the movies were good keep it going why would you make the last 3 movies if you was'nt going to continue the plot keep it going the millions of x men fans will thank you

    RUmor Kill!!! There WILL be an X-Men 4! I called 20th Century FOX Entertainment and Marvel Entertainment and they are currently considering it since they left numerous cliff hangers and are currently creating plot lines and script-drafts for the FILM!! OMG! So happy! It prob won't be out until 2015 though, They are currently casting for X-Men: First Class and it will premier in June of 2011 and Magneto has his own origin series coming AND X:Men Orgins Wolverine 2 is cirrculating as a SEQUEL to his series! Hopefully in about 3 years they'll begin seriously plotting scenarios for the 4th installment of the ORIGINAL X-Men Movie Franchise. I know its a few years away BUT they are considering it and SO many fans want it. Especially how they left Professor Xavier ALIVE in the End of X:3 and how Jean Grey being the Phoenix RISES FROM THE ASHES meaning SHE CANT DIE. And as for Cyclops WE NEVER SAW HIM DIE. FOX could say that when he and Jean were Kissing he felt him self in pain by jean when she was going all dark phoenix on him during the make out session and pulled away LIKE WOLVERINE DID WHEN SHE TRIED TO SCREW HIM. Jean could have came to her normal self for a moment LOSING CONTROL OF HIS POWER and he could have ACCIDENTALLY blasted her across the river bank of Alcalye Lake RESULTING in what we saw in the movie... Wolverine and Storm finding her uncontious laying on the rocks of Alcalye Lakes river bank. AN EASY COVER UP ON FOX'S PART. We saw the professor talking about the possibility of moving ones mind into a non-contious body WHEN THEY SHOWED Myra Mc'Taggart and that guy whos vital organs were in tact but was in a deeep accoma. And end the end of X3 we saw professor X wake up in that guys body and heard his voice and Myra said "Charles??" in a surprised tone! THERE WILL BE AN X4 AND IM SOOOO HAPPY! (sorry for the capital letters im a diehard X-Men fan lmfao). So yaaa. X 4 will prob happen but in a few years. OH and we saw Magneto get his powers back at the end when he moved the chess piece and since rouge had the cure too it means the cure is TEMPORARY. Gambit was introduced in the Prequel so he will prob be contracted to X4 too and Im guessing Emma Frost will appear like she did in the NEWEST tv animated series to take over for Charles Xavier like she did in the TV series. Jubilee will prob be back as well but have a bigger part. Im guessing Nightcrawler will too, as well as Angel, Beast, Collasus, Shadowcat, and maybe even Forge! This should make for an EXCELLENT movie! -xoxo

    They need to make a Alpha Flight movie or introduce Alpha Flight in Xmen series. They are a canadian group but... BADASS. Also no one here has mentioned The Avengers. Hulk, Ironman, Wolverine, Spiderman etc... That would be the hit.

    If you guys change the main characters including the wolverine (HUGH JACKMAN), I will not see that movie. INcluding many other people. You will loose a lot of money if you change the stars. Its like making a new harry potter movie with totally different characters, it would be dumb to go see.

    Hi i am writing my own X-Men sequel which would work on a better interpretation of the characters of the X-men comic but still respecting the movie franchises counterparts.
    The story would revolve around the X-Men being confronted by Sinister.
    The synopsis is as follows:
    6 Months after the Phoenix brought mankind to its knees, humans and mutants are seeing through an unsteady peace.
    A Sinister figure steps from the shadows with a proposition to help the X-men be reunited with there fallen comrades.
    The X-men however are wary but when Magneto steps forward it is revealed just how Sinister bringing back the dead really is........
    Anyone interested in reading the first parts of my film can just reply to this or message me and id be happy to email you the story so far and share ideas with you.

    I would like to see The Brood in x-men 4 because it would make the movie more darker and more twist to it. If they can pull off by making The Brood which kinda similar to Aliens movie.. then it gotta be cool and I'm sure anyone would love to see that as x-men battle the Brood. Then I could see Apocalypse in x-men 5 where he has 4 horsemen and angel tranform into Archangel by Apocalypse. So that why I would give angel a chance to be Angel in x-men 4 against the brood. Beside, we need to see how angel can do while he still have feathers wings.

    I'm not too familiar with children of the atom. I've heard of it. I like the wolverine series in the early nineties. He loses his adamantium, then one set of claws. I actually jumped in at that time, i personally like the Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos is awesome. now I'm trying to finish collecting Age of Apocalypse. Those stories are way out there to be put into a film. There just Too Cool. Maybe an rpg game something that carries the story.

    If you want a good rehash on the X-men's origin, Children Of THe Atom is...adequate. It would at least make a better movie than First Class. It was the Wolverine series from the eighties.

    No way, its terrible huh, I'll have to check it out (X-men,first class)and see for myself. I heard Frank Miller collaberated with an X-Men series or was it wolverine? I think FOX is getting too excited about their X-MEN Franchise, Yes X-Men will always be profitable, but they keep rushing themselves to put it on screen and sacrificing quality. Whatever they do I want to see a drug abusing villian,lol.

    Dude, FIRST CLASS was a terrible series. It read like it was written for five year-olds. When I heard Parker was going to be writing stories about the original crew in their original concept (the 60's) I got excited. But it was just a bunch of lame freak of the week stories that filled in the blanks left by the old comics. If you're going to do a reboot, do it, don't puss out.

    I hope they start the whole series over with the original five as though no one knew who they were.
