X-Men 4 and 5 in development
Apparently, X-Men: First Class is kicking off a series that will run congruent with the continuation of the original X-Men franchise, with X-Men 4 picking up and continuing the storyline of 2006's X-Men: The Last Stand. The storyline of that film will then lead directly into X-Men 5.
The producer went onto talk about the long gestating Deadpool, which Lauren Shuler Donner claims has an R rated screenplay at this time. She is also calling it a "reboot" of the character we saw in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, though Ryan Reynolds is still set to reprise the role.
"It's a total reboot. We're either going to pretend that X-Men Origins: Wolverine didn't happen, or mock it, which he could do. It's insane, it's definitely comedy. But it's an R script, it's really irreverent and violent. Right away, we're out of the X-Men world. He's very involved, Ryan Reynolds. He's working with the writers on the screenplay and it is as much his as it is ours. I'm tellin' ya, it's true to the comic. You'll see all of them. You'll see Wade Wilson, the good-looking Ryan Reynolds! You'll see Deadpool in his costume and you'll see the cancer-scarred face.We're looking for a director."
Lauren Shuler Donner also had a bit of news on The Wolverine.
"It will have depth and a dramatic backbone. And yet there's more action in this one than in any one we've ever done. It's such a good script. We have the great Christopher McQuarrie writing and it's very true to the Japanese saga. This is Logan on his own..."
X-Men: Days of Future Past comes to theaters July 18th, 2014 and stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Rose Byrne, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman. The film is directed by Bryan Singer.
Deadpool is in development and stars Ryan Reynolds.
The Wolverine comes to theaters July 26th, 2013 and stars Hugh Jackman, Famke Janssen, Will Yun Lee, Brian Tee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima. The film is directed by James Mangold.

@belgygarg Completely agreed! He's one of the only things that will save the X franchise. I'm convinced he's the only thing that would've saved X3 as well, even with him over-shadowing the new blue dude, Beast. Obviously though, the movie would've HAD to have been much longer to leave more room for good character development.
I've really been enjoying his performance on The Good Wife for the past 2 years. He's such a great, underrated, under-appreciated, and versatile actor. I'm sure he's enjoying his current role, and people's love for his portrayal of Nightcrawler, just as much as he is. :)

PS: If anyone still has an issue with her acting abilities, I think the scene between her and Nightcrawler on the plane in X2 speaks volumes on that.

Agreed with @dan1 and @masta-chiefed. No need to recast Berry. I loved her as Storm, I've just always thought her character was way underutilized in the films. As bad as X3 was, I'm glad she pushed for more screen-time and a more faithful representation of Storm in it. Berry gets way too much hate for these films mainly b/c she couldn't pull off an accent or look that much like Storm. If those are still the reasons, time to let it go.

i wouldnt mind seeing 4 and 5 happen because their is so much more apocalypse, cable alot of classic and great characters and story could be put to work, sentinels name it, yeah we kinda saw one is a training seeing but what about the real deal, it would be cool

@brian half of these super hero films announced won't even be made. Hulk 2, Daredevil 2, Fantastic Four 3, Magneto, Aquaman, Spawn Reboot, Blade Reboot, Justice League, and many others were all announced to have scripts and set to go into production but none of them happened. If Avengers fails (i hope not) then JLA will get the axe instantly. These X-Men movies will likely happen as First Class looks excellent.

Hmmmmm ok well i have nothing to say on X-Men 4 & 5 because its irrelevant and not worth the time.
Now i'm losing interest in Deadpool, because its not a bloody comedy, its a smart ass, violent flick with smarmy ass merc that has a cheek and always know what to say to piss people off.
So I'll wait for a trailer

really not sure. it's funny though b/c i'm just wrapping up watching the X-Men trilogy again and 3 is just not doing it. it is consistant to the stroy established, but the tone, the feel, the character development all seem to have fallen apart. that does not excite me for a 4 & 5, though if done well i'd be interested.

@masta-chiefed...yeah, i remember incidents in the comics and the 90's cartoon series where her powers go out of control and shows shes more powerfull then she seems and also was worshipped as a goddess in the village she grew up in before being found by Xavier, would be kool to see her full potential on film

@bane5000@bawnian-dexeus@shuabert Storm's backstory is actually cooler than most of the Xmen. She is actually a Goddess. Her powers have been dumbed down and tame in the films. I'm sure this is part of the reason H.Berry pushed for more films. She could do so much with the true depth of Storm's character.

@shuabert Think about how badly she was written. Halle is a great actress. Give her a lead role, and we'll be reminded why she won an Oscar. They had her speaking in some bogus African accent the first 2 films... I'd be uncomfortable too.
