Wrath of the Titans EW Photo Featuring Sam Worthington

Sam Worthington returns as Perseus in the Jonathan Liebesman directed Warner Bros. sequel Wrath of the Titans. Entertainment Weekly has our first look at Perseus, now a fisherman with a ten-year-old son. Check it out below.

Wrath of the Titans Photo

A decade after his heroic defeat of the monstrous Kraken, Perseus, the demigod son of Zeus, is attempting to live a quieter life as a village fisherman and the sole parent to his 10-year old son, Helius.

Meanwhile, a struggle for supremacy rages between the gods and the Titans. Dangerously weakened by humanity's lack of devotion, the gods are losing control of the imprisoned Titans and their ferocious leader, Kronos, father of the long-ruling brothers Zeus, Hades and Poseidon. The triumvirate had overthrown their powerful father long ago, leaving him to rot in the gloomy abyss of Tartarus, a dungeon that lies deep within the cavernous underworld.

Perseus cannot ignore his true calling when Hades, along with Zeus' godly son, Ares (Édgar Ramírez), switch loyalty and make a deal with Kronos to capture Zeus. The Titans' strength grows stronger as Zeus' remaining godly powers are siphoned, and hell is unleashed on earth.

Enlisting the help of the warrior Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Poseidon's demigod son, Argenor (Toby Kebbell), and fallen god Hephaestus (Bill Nighy), Perseus bravely embarks on a treacherous quest into the underworld to rescue Zeus, overthrow the Titans and save mankind.

Wrath of the Titans comes to theaters March 30th, 2012 and stars Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Édgar Ramírez, Rosamund Pike, Toby Kebbell, Danny Huston. The film is directed by Jonathan Liebesman.

I think his longer hair stye in this sequel to Clash of the Titans, looks better on him then the "buzz cut" hair style he had in Clash of the Titans, because of the type of movies that these recent Clahs of the Titans and Wrath of the Titans are. Plus, the same character from the Clash of the Titans movie from the 1980s, that Sam Worthington plays in the new Wrath of the Titans movie looks more like the right hair style for the time period of the Clash of the Titans and Wrath of the Titans movies.

@major Tom I Agree With your Top 5 list of this year so far, However I disagree with Green Lantern Being one of the worst movies this year, i understand this is a personal opinion but Mark Strong's portrayal of sinestro was excellent and Michael Clark Duncan as Kilowog was like a green lantern fanboy's wet dream.but it wasnt a great movie either it had many flaws that will hopefully be fixed in the inevitable sequel.

I would have to say the worst movie ive seen this year was probably Cars 2. Cars was one movie that didnt need a sequel at all.

@k-man I have to respectfully disagree with your hatred of Thor, because for me, that was one of the best movies of the summer. Captain America was underwhelming though, I will agree their. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it.

As for my Top 5 of the year, the list (so far) goes as such:

    1. X-Men: First Class
I know, it's kinda strange that I would give this best honors, but I absolutely loved it.

    2. 50/50

    3. Rise of the Planet of the Apes
Had James Franco even tried to act in this movie, it would've been higher. It stands as is solely based on Serkis' performance as Caesar.

    4. Thor

    5. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

I didn't see enough crappy movies this year to make a list of the worst, but if I had, Green Lantern would top it :P

And I'm starting to see where you're coming from with B:LA. But it was still entertaining to me because it kinda knew what kind of movie it was and handled it well (in my eyes).

@justice-kowaleski I agree. Just the fact that they have Hephaestus in this movie at all makes me happy, but they cast it perfectly.

@movie-nut - I think my other two most hated films *from theaters* (that I was hoping would be good) of 2011 would have to be Captain America and Thor (followed closely by Transformers 3). I just cant give those films the benefit of the doubt because they had too much stupid sh*t going on for the majority of the time.
However, I'm sure there were plenty of films out there that were waaayyy worse that I either didn't see or didn't really expect much from.
You also have to take into consideration that I was extremely cautions going to films this year after the sh*t-box year that was 2010...so I didn't see as many films as I usually would. This list will be MUCH harder to answer if you ask me at the end of 2012!!

However, the absolute worst film I saw all year (which was a rental and I had zero expectations for it) was Trespass starring Nicholas Cage. Holy f*ck was that sh*t horrible. I felt dumber after about 10 minutes and turned it off after about 20 minutes.

However, if you want to compare films, lets do so on a more positive note: Films you Loved this year. In fact, I welcome everyone who reads this to chime in and list their favorites.

2011 was another really sh*t year, so it was hard to come up with my favorites, but my top 5 films of 2011 would have to be:

    1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II - (Easily my favorite of the year, this film was fantastic!!)

    2. Drive - Without question the film that caught me most off guard and was pleasantly surprised.

    3. Rise of the Planet of the Apes - Andy Serkis's performance alone was worth the admission fee.

    4. Water For Elephants - great story...exactly what I thought it would be.

    5. Super 8 - Was great until the last 30 minutes (which almost ruined it for me)

I also thought Lincoln Lawyer, Source Code and Contagion were good too.

(There were also a lot of films that I wanted to see and never got around to seeing, like Warrior (which I hear is absolutely amazing), The Debt and One Day, that I was looking forward to).

I saw a lot of sh*tty films this year on rental, not in Theaters.

here are a few really crap rentals from 2011

    1. Horrible Bosses
    2. Trespass
    3. Green Lantern
    4. Sucker Punch
    5. Priest

@movie-nut - The reason why I hated Battle L.A. so much is because there was absolutely no substance to that film, whatsoever. It was, for me, the very definition of all that is wrong with cinema these days.......nothing but explosions and a bunch of guys dressed in Army fatigues running the entire film, with the height of dialogue & conversation consisting of "GET DOWN!" or "WATCH OUT!". In fact, I think that's all they said, over and over, the entire film.

Woooh, sorry man, just went on a bit of a rant there for a second.....you got me all fired up, now. haha.

Anyways, as much as I love Sci-fi/Fantasy/alien films......I want a story to go along with it. Battle L.A. didn't have one and it's going to take more than some cars/buildings blowing up to make me happy.....so that's why it's on my sh*t-list.
