Max Brooks, author of the book upon which the movie is based, had his to say about the production as it continues this week.

"It's incredible. Brad Pitt really conquered the city. I've never seen this much enthusiasm for a film and everyone is really excited to be working with all these people cheering and watching. I was on set watching a scene where Brad Pitt is running with his family, and a hundred extras running with him, and behind us was a crowd of about 500 people just watching. The assistant director said how great it would be if only we had the money to hire all the people in behind us. I also had lunch with the zombies and they're great. They look very much like what my impression would be of new zombies who had not really begun to rot, kind of like phase one zombies. They have a zombie school, where they are teaching extras how to act like zombies, and from talking to people on set they have really put a lot of research into everything. It was incredible to see it for myself and I'm still amazed they are making a movie of the book. I heard Brad Pitt had optioned the rights and I thought, 'That's cool' but it probably wouldn't ever get made because most optioned projects never do, so it was the biggest shock in the world to me when my wife showed me pictures on her computer of Brad Pitt in Malta filming World War Z. I'm still waiting to wake up from this one."

World War Z was released June 21st, 2013 and stars Brad Pitt, Mireille Enos, Daniella Kertesz, James Badge Dale, Ludi Boeken, Matthew Fox, Fana Mokoena, David Morse. The film is directed by Marc Forster.

@TheFireRises -- You're basing the movies' potential on pictures? That's pretty pathetic, especially when you figure that Brad Pitt is in it. Give this movie and the production team the dignity and courtesy they deserve - and wait for a trailer.

It will make you look like less of a dumbass, man.

And the family thing and reporter being so involved is still stupid to me.

I was sort of enjoying these until I saw the Obama got Osama sticker... *unamused face*. Seal Team Six, along with intelligence gathering and leg work by the CIA and our military got him. All Obama had to do was give the order "do it". Which takes some cajones, sure, giving the order to end other peoples lives, but he just happened to be president at the right time. Anyways...

As for the photos, still pretty Meh to me. Seriously, the zombies look so much better in TWD, it's ridiculous. Keep trying, guys, eventually I hope to see and hear something to my tastes, I love the book too much, it would be a travesty for me if it's not at least half as awesome.
