Wolverine Sequel Production Delayed

The Wolverine gets delayed
The Wolverine gets delayed
20th Century Fox has pushed back the production of The Wolverine. Although the studio hasn't released an official production date, it is pushing to start in spring 2012.

The filming location is in Japan, while ideas for Canada have been talked about due to the erratic weather conditions in Japan. The studio has been trying to get the film off the ground for some time and with Darren Aronofsky bowing out, James Mangold will be directing the project which will begin filming as soon as Hugh Jackman finishes Les Miserables.

The film was scripted by Christopher McQuarrie.

Production for the film will begin spring of 2012.

The Wolverine comes to theaters July 26th, 2013 and stars Hugh Jackman. The film is directed by James Mangold.

    @superman81 They never did directly. It's pretty much understood by the direction all X-Men related films are taking.

    Might as well wait until Darren Aronofsky is available again. Especially if it is being considered that filming should take place in Canada completely. Aranofsky won't be too far from his family, then.

    @superman81 @mattbierwagen It's not a sequel, it's a stand-alone. Fox is pretending Origins never happened.

    @superman81 but origins was awful, and darren aronofsky would be directing it if it werent for the amount of time hed have to be overseas. I figured he wouldnt pick up something like that if it were a sequel. But i suppose your right. Thanks for keepin me in check!

    sounds like its going to be one of those movies that was going to be beyond awesome but then once certain important ppl left the project, it all went to hell (the only examples i can think of is halloween remake and wolfman). Idk what to thnk yet, i think as long as they keep the same script th afronski liked, it should still be on the right track to a great movie

    Gotta say, once Aronofsky left I kind of lost interest in this. If it doesn't get made, I'm fine with that.

    Honestly, if this project never came to fruition and Jackman went off to do something else, I'd be both unsurprised and forgiving towards him, since I know how passionate he felt about the role. That counts in my book, I can respect that.
