Wilmer Valderrama and Jason Ritter Set for The Dry Land

Wilmer Valderrama and Jason Ritter have boarded The Dry Land, joining America Ferrera and Mellisa Leo in the indie drama from Maya Entertainment.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan Piers Williams wrote the script and is making his directorial debut on the feature.

The movie, previously titled American Tragic, follows a young soldier (Ryan O'Nan) who returns home from a tour of duty only to find that his small-town life no longer fits.

Ferrera is starring as his wife and Leo as his mom. Valderrama is playing O'Nan's Army buddy who helps him in his search for redemption, and Ritter is a hometown pal who looked out for the soldier's wife while he was gone.

The film is shooting in Albuquerque, N.M., before moving to locations in Texas.
