"I have a scene with Iron Man, with Robert Downey Jr.," the actor reported. "It's a funky scene." Further clarifying, Hurt said "I don't know how it'll work. I know it's weird [to work with a character from another movie], and to know it's a device. We did something; I don't know what that's going to be like [to watch]."
Hurt also revealed some other details about the film. A long-time fan of the character of the Hulk, Hurt explains why he did this film. "I believe in Hulk. Absolutely. That's why I did the movie," he revealed. "I'm a Hulk fan, and he was always my favorite. I keep asking my son why he's both of our favorites. I read the comic books, but he's a real fanatic. I didn't even know he was a fanatic for Hulk until after I agreed to do the film - and we're father and son."
Why does Hurt love the character so much? Describing the script co-written by Ed Norton (who plays Bruce Banner/The Hulk) and Zak Penn, Hurt explains that the plot of the film "has to do with the fact that [Banner's] conscience still exists in a body that is a manifestation of power and is greater than his own ability to control it - and how he's learning that relationship. Because that's what's happening to us. That's the central metaphor for all of us, that we're learning these powers - technological powers, whatever - that we don't know if we have enough conscience to control in a wise way yet. And that's what he's doing. [Hulk] is managing to save his humanity inside that, while people like General Ross can't. That's a main theme throughout many of the comics, and in The Incredible Hulk, it seems to be [primary]. ... I love him."
Sadly, Hurt was unable to comment much on Norton's performance as the tortured scientist-turned monster. "I don't know. I only have two scenes with him," he sighed, sounding a bit disappointed. "That's not enough to get a whole taste of it."
Hurt does describe one important scene in the film that he can't wait to see:
Liv Tyler, I play her father, General Ross. There's a scene, and during that scene there are a number of things happening. [Hulk] has beaten Abomination, and then there's a crowd that gathers around, and they realize that he's beaten Abomination. That Abomination was the one who was killing for just the joy of killing; Hulk is not the one.
It's the moment of turn when society's relationship with Hulk stops being so stupid. I want to see the relationship between Hulk and a world that realizes he's not the villain," Hurt said. "Hulk and [Liv Tyler's Betty Ross] have their moment, and the crowd realizes he's not the bad guy.

lets get real!!!! by the time they wanna do an Avengers movie all the actors playing these marvel characters will be too expensive to get!!!!
Captain america: ??? (but he has to be a good actor, prob cost in the region of $10,000,000)
Iron Man: Downey Jnr $10,000,000 (at least)
Hulk: Norton $10,000,000
Betty Ross: Tyler $5,000,000
Thor: ??? more big money
Nick Fury: Sam L jackson 㾶,000,000
there is only some of the characters needed for it and its already costing a bomb!! what happened with X-men and having all good acters for the main characters was a flook!! it won't happen again, and they can't make an Avengers movie with new actors!!! would be sh*t cause we would be used to the actors already doing the roll!

THE JOKER
this is great. it sounds like the story is phenominal in this. and great that they cover the fact that the Hulk is not a criminal. It needed to be there. and this is definitely a great way to connect the films and go into the avengers movie. cant wait for this.

That should be cool, expecially setting up the fact that the Marvel Universe is interconnected.

I wonder if it is a true set of crossover scenes, or if it will just be like a couple of newscasts playing on TV's that the respective characters see.

crossover is really cool u dont see that alot in movies as much as tv, so when they do stuff like that its really interesting, especially when they are 2 different studios, however marvel is the connecting factor here

i like the set up for the "Avengers" film, and the fact that "The Incredible Hulk" delves a little deeper into the reasoning and background behind Bruce Banner and his mutation, which I believe was missing or falsely portrayed in "Hulk"; can't wait to see Norton as Hulk, he's got such a great persona for this part
