"There'll probably be a prequel of some kind with another actor and another director before we do another one," he said, "just because I think we're probably another five years away from doing it - we've got to get a script..."
Back in November, director Paul Greengrass dropped out of directing the untitled Jason Bourne film. However, Damon revealed shortly thereafter that he believed Greengrass would eventually return to the franchise.
The Bourne Legacy comes to theaters August 3rd, 2012 and stars Rachel Weisz, Jeremy Renner, Joan Allen, Albert Finney, Oscar Isaac, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach, Scott Glenn. The film is directed by Tony Gilroy.

Basically people, this means either there is no idea where to take the Bourne story after he begins to expose things, or the studio is putting the breaks on the whole secret assasin going to the media angle. For obvious reasons.

why does every movie franchise or series want a f*cking Prequel! First it was all about remakes and now Prequels.

I'd like to see these guys to a prequel. Matt Damon would just have to lose some weight. :)

The Narrator: The Better Man
Agreed Darktower. "...nuking the fridge." Lol.
Anyways, the worst thing is this is Universal. Known so well for fully milking franchises. In my opinion more so than Fox.

A prequel would be cool if it focused on Bourne's rivarly with Carlos (from the books). It wouldn't work with Damon, obviously, but it's better that way. I think the trilogy thus far was wrapped up perfectly and going back in the same manner would be nuking the fridge.

Cripple
Don't give a sh*t about this unless it's Damon and Greengrass.

Yeah it will be straight to DVD stuff if it's not with Matt Damon or Greengrass.

Agreed. No prequel. Like everything Hollywood, it is unneeded.

The Narrator: The Better Man
Agreed hands down with Twisted. No prequel, at least not without Damon. I will wait for a fourth installment to stick to the trilogy.

kingbrady
a prequel is believable but we already saw everything through his flashblacks, whats the point of that?
a sequel can also be done well, but how the body was not found as he swam away, but what are they gonna do now, the CIA wont start a new program after everyone involved was arrested, doesnt make sense to do so...interesting to see how it plays out

Twisted Smile (The Untold Smile)
Not really what I was expecting. I rather not have a prequel and just wait for the next chapter in the Bourne saga.
