The original film starred Cary Grant and Joan Fontaine, which revolves around Fontaine's character marrying Grant's character, and then she suspects he's trying to kill her. The site reports that Smith is in talks to play Cary Grant's character.

The rights to the original film are held by RKO and the project was expected to land at Paramount. Click Here! to read the full article.

That's the reaction I wanted, I'm still a fan of his but for some reason his newer films have been slightly boring and dull. It's as if he lost his spark, I liked the c*cky, joking side of him, he - well I think he acts white.

What about if Will was the one that was susp*cious? This thought just occurred to me a few hours ago. I think this may work better because it strays from the original plot. Disturbia just keeps popping in my head. It took the basic plot of Rear Window and tweaked it to fit in the modern world, to varying degrees of success. Disturbia wasn't a great movie, hell some would say it wasn't good, but I think it had the right approach to remaking Hitchc*ck films. To try and do remake that's like the original seems like a waste of time.

"you suck Will and stop making horrible films." For some odd reason this made me laugh out loud. Thanks, Todd. Will is one of my favorite actors, and I will see any move with his name attached, but like ejk1 said, the direction is crucial. Find a decent director and get back to me. ;P

This is a stupid idea. Just another example of how Hollywood thinks they can make classic movies better. If they could be done better they wouldn't be classics!

Joan Fontaine won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her performance in the film Susp*cion (1941). This was the only Academy Award-winning performance under Hitchc*ck's direction.

Remaking Hitchc*ck movies is dicey. He got everything every actor and actress had, and them squeezed even more juice out of them. The director will definitely be a key in the success or failure of this project. As for Will, I think he can fill Grant's shoes. He has shown both comic and dramatic ability, a duality that was Grant's greatest strength. Just don't make a shot for shot sequel a la 1998's Psycho, starring Vince Vaughn.
