Will Smith Heading to Spielberg's The Trial of the Chicago 7?

While on a press day promoting the Brazilian release of I Am Legend, Will Smith confirmed to Collider.com's partner site, Omelette, that he has been approached by director Steven Spielberg to join the cast. Spielberg also asked the actor to leave some time open, when the script is ready.

"When Steve is ready he will send it," Smith said. "I don't know specifics, story, anything, but he told me the filming dates, so I can be free to do it. It's not a 100% sure thing yet, but I'm confident."

More on this as it develops.
