Will Planet of the Apes Be Remade Yet Again?

Those damn dirty apes don't appear to be finished quite yet. According to CHUD, Fox has yet another Apes movie in the works entitled Genesis: Apes.

The film will allegedly be a remake of the 1973 film, Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, the story of Caesar, the first ape with the ability to speak that led the uprising of the apes against the humans. Here's a brief section of the article describing the new film.

In this version Caesar is the result of a genetic scientist fooling around with the nature of things. When the baby monkey exhibits intelligence and the ability to talk, he takes the cuddly thing home to his wife, who is unable to bear children. Things go surprisingly well for a number of years until Caesar grows up and sees mommy getting attacked. The dutiful son steps in and accidentally kills the attacker.

This reboot was written by Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver but it isn't clear if this is set for production yet or not. Click Here! to read the rest of the article on this new remake.

NOOOOO!!!!!!!! Burton did a great job with his remake and Marky Mark was great as well. If anything they should do a sequel to that where the apes are back on earth.

    No prob lol

I'd like to see Peter Jackson remake "Planet of the Apes" like he did "King Kong." I liked Burton's vision, but it wasn't EPIC enough. Jackson made one giant ape look f*cking sweet...imagine what he could do with thousands of human sized apes ;)

Killbill2wice... Jaws isn't being remade (thank god).. someone on this thread said something to the like of "what's next? A remake of Jaws?"... and everyone is agreeing that's a bad idea.

As for Tinman's idea... I like it. Wahlberg landing in the all ape world at the end was interesting. They obviously advanced to driving cars, etc so... it would be a totally new direction from ANY of the previous movies... including the ones in the 60's. Though that was the original direction they wanted to go... they never did. Its time we go there and have Wahlberg show those apes they ARE the inferior species.... or are they? That would be for the movie to decide. ;)

Jaws does not need to be remade at all. Same with Halloween, and...know what? Never mind...that list can go on and on. Anywho...I'm tired of this sh*t right here. You know when ideas are running out when they redo and redo. Jeeeesuuussss.....

The original Conquest of the Planet of the Apes is a great film but i don't think it should be remade, why make remakes of sequels? It's really stupid, why don't they make a sequel of the Tim Burton version and just carry it on from where we left it, where the cop/apes capture Mark Walbergh in Ape/Washington D.C. in front of the statue of Ape/Lincoln, that's what would be good to see, people want to see something new not just recycled stories.

I dont think its a bad idea, but you can also tell Caesar's story some other way by having a sequel to Burton's film. Burton's film wasn't that great, but it was good enough to at least make a franchise out of it. I say "no" to the re-remake, and "yes" to a sequel with possible back story on Caesar's situation.
