According to Variety Will Ferrell and director David Dobkin will not be doing 20th Century Fox's Neighborhood Watch.

The pair was supposed to make the comedy this spring. In fact, Dobkin had just turned in revisions of Jared Stern's script.

The story chronicles an urbanite's journey as he moves to a suburban community, joins the neighborhood watch and uncovers a large conspiracy.

There is no word on who is taking over the project.
