Will CG Versions of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny Glover Be Seen in Predators?

PredatorLunch is reporting some interesting news on Predators. This film, that Nimród Antal is directing and Robert Rodriguez is producing, has been generating a lot of buzz since some character and behind-the-scenes featurettes went viral. Now however, that buzz is going to be facing a pretty rough test.

A source close to Predators is saying that a CG version of Arnold Schwarzenegger (who made an appearance in McG's ill-concieved Terminator Salvation) is in fact going to be making an appearance in this new film.

Now, if that isn't enough to make the fanboys shudder in horror it also looks like Danny Glover, who starred in Predator 2, is also going to be in Predators as a CG character.

Nobody from Rodriguez's Austin Based Troublemaker Studios would return our phone calls, but Rodriguez did hint in an interview that we did with him at the San Diego Comic-Con that we maybe could expect such things to be happening in the film.

"This is a whole new world in this movie," Rodriguez said. "I can't say too much right now but I really want to combine all the films into one film in the sickest way. It's as if Predators will be a prequel, a new film and a sequel all in one. Think about that... three movies for $10... well, $14 if it's in 3D!"

The director, like many others, also cited the influence of another movie that takes place on another planet.

"Look, Avatar is the biggest movie ever. It probably will be for a long, long time. I think it's apparent, especially with the success I've had, people like anything that comes out of a computer. Like I told Quentin Tarantino, 'we're just giving people what the want.'"

"That's stupid," was all Danny Glover would say about the idea of being a CG character in the film. He is currently making the press rounds promoting Neil LaBute's new film Death at a Funeral.

Predators stars Topher Grace, Adrien Brody, Alice Braga, Danny Trejo, and Laurence Fishburne.

It comes to theaters July 7 from 20th Century Fox.

Things just might, in the least possible chance ever, come out good. Or just be the suckiest movie ever in the history of sucknig.

Jeez! Dude you're a filmaker Ridriguez for pitty sake! Pay Arnold enough money to actually make a cameo or two cameos perhaps, trust me everyone will see this movie BIG TIME!! That would be Badass, an older wiser Arnold all suited up in military!

why is "Avatar" mentioned in ALL the joke stories? Seriously it was 3 months ago and wasn't that great of a film. Just the hype over JC's career, his 12yr absence, and it being the follow up to "Titanic." That's it.

oh yeah it's f*cking april 1st isnt it?
too bad, i like this idea. i thought the arnie cameo in terminator worked pretty well, and i love the idea of danny glover's character in predator 2 getting some action, but i seem to recall rodriguez saying that he was dismissing predator 2 in this storyline as if it never happened.

love the quote from glover too, i can hear him saying it.

I like the idea...and I liked seeing Arnold in Terminator Salvation. Don't know what was so "ill-conceived" about that film? Either way I think this is cool. The film already looks sick...so this would just be a cherry on top for me

hmmm... another april fools prank by movieweb... funny that they have regurgitated alot of stories, then just so happens they have what 10 new stories which happens to be on april 1st? i am taking this one with a grain of salt, even if there is any truth to this (which i highly doubt due to googling and finding that movieweb is the only reporting at all) i highly doubt with many dissapointed with the terminator arnold cg (i am not one of them, loved it) that rodriguez and company would want to have it connected instead of making this a film that can stand on its own two feet without gimmicks to draw people in.
