Will Arnett and Michael Shannon Join Jonah Hex

Will Arnett
Will Arnett and Oscar nominee Michael Shannon are boarding Jonah Hex, Warner Bros. and Legendary's action Western based on the DC Comics character.

Jimmy Hayward is directing Jonah Hex, whose cast also includes Josh Brolin, John Malkovich and Megan Fox. It's the story of Hex (Brolin), a scarred bounty hunter tracking a voodoo practitioner (Malk¬ovich) who wants to raise an army of the undead to liberate the South.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Arnett will play a Union soldier who enlists Hex and is blindsided by the dirty fighting style of his enemies. The role is not inherently comic.

Shannon plays Doc Cross Williams, the bizarre ringleader of a brutal gladiator circus event. The character might appear in sequels.

The film is due to start production this month in Louisiana.

Jonah Hex was released June 18th, 2010 and stars Josh Brolin, John Malkovich, Megan Fox, Michael Fassbender, Will Arnett, John Gallagher Jr., Tom Wopat, Michael Shannon. The film is directed by Jimmy Hayward.

I agree, B-movies & independent movies own over mainstream movies. They are more artistically designed and more challengly creative in terms of visuals and story.

I love the comics to Jonah Hex, in fact who wouldn't love a bloody graphic western, but they are taking the film version to much to the B-movie side, which the BBFC & MPAA will definately limit the release of this film, which is really annoying because usually a film that is limited released in theatres in the States, doesn't get a cinema release daye over here in the UK, it usually goes straight to dvd, like the new street fighter film (whish is sh*t, but still you get my point)

I don't see this film doing so good, well either way it won't make enough profit to warrant a sequel.

I think people will find it too B-movish, and it'll end up with a small or limited release
