According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Weinstein Co. has nabbed all North American rights to Randal Kleiser's family-oriented romantic comedy Lovewrecked.

The Media 8 Entertainment production centers on a teen (Amanda Bynes) who is thrown off a cruise ship with her favorite rock star (Chris Carmack). After the two wash up on a deserted island, she hides the fact that the resort where she works is just a stone's throw away. Rounding out the cast, Jamie-Lynn Sigler plays the lead's nemesis, and Jonathan Bennett plays her best friend from high school.

Shot in the Dominican Republic, Lovewrecked was produced by Joe Anderson, Wendy Thorlakson and Sammy Lee. The executive producers are Lance Bass, Stewart Hall, Matthew Leonetti Jr., Derek Elliott, Simon Lo and Kelli Konop.

Lovewrecked was released January 21st, 2007 and stars Amanda Bynes, Chris Carmack, Jonathan Bennett, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Susan Duerden, Fred Willard, Jackie Long, Joey Kern. The film is directed by Randal Kleiser.
