quite sarcastic... its just another remake when i really wish hollywood would get creative and come up with new things.. The only credit i give Michael Bay is for Transformers... Thats pretty much it..

Haha... I wanna see it. Jackie is a nice actor but this looks so ridiculous. Some cool cinematography, but it looks ready to be just like Friday the 13th and Halloween remakes. And Jackie sounds like Elmer Fudd.

This movie looks like crap and I love the nightmare on elm street movie I have them all but im thinkin this is going to ruin the movies. They shouldn't be malein a remake with out England and craven!!

Joker, I'm gonna take it that your being sarcastic, because first of all it's just Bay's studio company that's producing this. He's not directing this. Secondly, Bay is not a great director.

i think this actually looks really good. Plus Michael Bay is a great director so i know he has the eye and taste to pull this off

And anyone remaking the Matrix has got to be asking for it. Its like remaking LOTR. IT can't be done.

Hmmmmmm take a look at this trailer people, apparently, people wanted this guy to direct the remake.
Also most comments that have gone up since the release of the official trailer above, the fans have slated this one as much better than the official trailer enjoy.

Well to each their own Va, as i stated, i never understood the praise and hype to Blair Witch.
I agree with newkill 80s horror is still fresh in our mind, while despites the great 30s horror, that we cherish and love, we wouldn't mind seeing a glamorised update to them, because it shows us what they can do now to what they couldn't do then and it modernising it for a new auidence which causes them to see the brilliance of the orignal 30s version.
And well i think with the more older remakes, like Wolfman, they put more passion into it, because they use more veteran film makers that grew up with the classics as well.
Ok here is an interesting discussion, that Brad Fuller never answered, since this ANOES news page is still getting comments i'll repost here.
Why did Platinum Dunes refuse to have Wes Craven on the film as a consultant?
Here is the full story, it be interesting to see people's opinions on this new info i found yesterday...
Its a reply i made to Chad, whom wondered if Platinum Dunes even spoke to Craven about the remake.
yeah they did, he sent them a request to be a consultant on the ANOES remake and they turned him down, this being the main reason apparently why Craven dissaproves of the remake and apparently why England didn't take the cameo role.
According to an intewview with Craven i found he talks about how to him it is a tradition for him to see all the projects that are remakes of his films through pre-production and production phases as a consultant, but he sttes he was majorily dissapointted when Platinum Dunes turned him down and that they didn't come to him but he had to go to them and they still turned him down.
Thus in a further video interview with England on the upcoming remake, he turned down the role of Dr James Britt, because Craven wasn't on the set as a consultant like he usuallly is with the remake projects of his, and stated
"that he wanted to be part of something successful and without Craven on that set, i don't know really. i mean they have a lot of advantages with the new technology, they can do things that we couldn't and Jackie is a good cast role to take over me, but they are missing the guy that knows the most about the dream world and the person that created this dark character that we've all come to grow and love for his iconic status, appearance and personality and that being Craven himself."

When i said, oh so, I didn't meant that it was bad, i meant that is was a while since that movie came out.

Yeah, I agree with his recent success. I said to somebody that he went off the radar for a bit, and they can back and said that he never left it. He is a child actor, and to be where he is now, instead of in rehab or in a gutter, is pretty impressive alone.
I guess I understand what your saying about the movies of today.
And Wolfman "oh so"? No way man. Next to Franky, Wolfman is my next fav. But like you said, if you likey, you likey.
Later man.

Newkill3000
Well, Vanboy, it's not a big deal about remaking Wolfman, because Wolfman was oh so, I don't know, like about 50 years ago. Freddy, Myers, and Jason are still pretty fresh in people's heads, unless your a new born baby. And really, like I said this Nightmare isn't a remake, it's just using that term to bring in more audience, because if it was called a plain old sequel which it is no one would want to see it. Fifty years from now, movies will not exist, because Hollywood will run out of movies to remake. Seriously, though, i don't want to f*cking interact with characters. I pay money to see the director give me his movie, I don't want to make the movie and I don't want to tell any character what to do. I hate Walgreens. They sell nothing but stale sh*t. And what is this whole craze over Haley. No one was really talking about this guy until Watchmen, and really before that he didn't really have that much success in his career.

Look Haley is talented but this seems like a mistake for him, after Watchmen and the upcoming Shutter Island, this Michael(TURD)Bay re-launch is beneath him...its a typecast f*cken career pit, oh well, I'm not his manager. He should have asked Englund if he ever made it as real actor.

Yes but Newkill, you just proved the point that you are debating against. In the old days, they did have movies like Dracula, Wolfman and The Creature From the Black Lagoon. And they remade The Wolfman now didn't they? Why remake the Wolfman? Surely we don't need that anymore, right. Just give us new monsters.
Nah, we need to have the old made new. They just don't need to screw them up when they remake them. Keep them like the originals were, but on NOS. The old Freddies are always going to be good. I have the Frankenstein Legacy Collection, and I prefer watching those, over anything that has been made recently, including/especially that Robert De Niro vehicle. What a travesty that was!
So if it's the old that you prefer, just stick with it, like I've stuck with my original Halloween 1 & 2, and said screw the rest. When movies become contemporarily dated, and can't be looked at as timeless, it is a given, that they will be remade.
Fifty years from now, the Saw movies will be remade. But by then, we will probably be able to interact with the characters, and tell them what to do, and not just yell at the screen.
For me, all sucky sequels simply don't exist. Even though I saw sh*tty Alien 3, I have decided, in my mind, that Ripley made it back to Earth, and is living a happy life with her new husband Hicks, new daughter Newt and new butler/bodyguard Bishop.
On a related note (to Halloween), I picked up a flashing Halloween skull that plays the real Halloween theme music by Carpenter and flashes. I will try to make it flicker, instead of flash, but I just think it's awesome. You can get yours from Walgreens drug stores for just ten bucks.

Ps2, why would you want to revamp it at all? It's not like the Freddy franchise is meant to be ongoing like the James Bond movies. The Freddy franchise has been dead since 1994, not considering the Jason vs. Freddy flick. Why can't they just leave the past and the past and give the new younger audience, new monsters to remember when they get older. It's like back in the 30's when you first saw the classic monsters like Dracula, Wolfman, Black Lagoon. Then when the 80's came around new audience got a whole new dose of monsters, such as Pinhead, Candyman, Jason, and Michael Myers. To say that the series needs to be revamp just proves that Hollywood is very smart for making nothing but remakes.

but im really looking forward to it ...

Chad, The Machinist is Bale at his finest. It's slow, but creepy and Bale is so awesome in it. Neat little twist too. Very sad compelling movie. It put him on the map! You will never see a living skeleton again, like you did in that movie!

Ottley, I have to disagree. I loved Blair Witch. I own it, and loved the realism of it. What I don't believe about it, is that they would keep the camera on, and that the batteries would have lasted.
I also loved the doc*mentary "The Curse of the Blair Witch", that they have on the DVD. It's the full footage of the interviews of the townspeople that you only see pieces of, in the movie. What hyped this movie up, is that people didn't know if the footage was real or just a movie. I don't know if you remember, but it was hyped, campaigned and advertised like it was an incident that really happened.
It's the cheapest movie ever made, that has made the most profit, of all time! I haven't seen part 2 "The Book of Shadows", but I heard it was dreadful.
