Warner Bros. to develop Spy Hunter
Warner Bros. is developing a feature version of the video game Spy Hunter with Dan Lin (Sherlock Holmes) and Roy Lee of Vertigo producing.

According to Variety, the story follows a highly trained spy hunter whose job it is to eliminate rogue spies when they become liabilities to their governments.

Chad St. John has been tapped to pen the screenplay.

The original "Spy Hunter" video game was published in 1983 by Midway Games, acquired last year by Warner Bros. in bankruptcy court.

Spy Hunter had recently been in development at Universal, where John Woo and Paul W.S. Anderson were attached to direct at various points and Dwayne Johnson attached to star. Scribes including Michael Brandt, Derek Haas, Zak Penn and Stuart Beattie had all worked on Spy Hunter scripts.

No production date has been set.

Spy Hunter is in development .

Damn, just do it already! People are not going to care anymore, if this keeps up. I bet it's off again next week. Lay your bets ladies and gentlemen!

Yeah, I remember that Dwayne Johnson was set to star in this. Now he's making fairy movies. He use to bust heads in the ring, now he has fairy wings and waves a wand. Oh God, It's The End of Days!!!!

If they make this, this better not be a flop. It's one of my favorite games back in the day, and they can do alot with this movie if they try.

every video game adaptation is always flawed and horribly....Prince of Persia is the only one that has a major production team and distribution company behind it, should it be good??

I've played one of these games, I just can't seem to agree with Dwayne or Paul to do this type of thing.
Paul is better at writing than at directing, and Dwayne isn't spy material more of a FBI Agent or a rough tough action hero.

If Warner handles Spy Hunter like they handle the DC Universe, it will get a hard push for a short period of time, then get put on the back burner for another project and eventually get scrapped well before pre-production ever gets a chance to start.
